Safe Kids do not block the mobile if kids open it in safe mode

My Kid has learnt to circumvent the Safe kids by opening the mobile in safe mode. Now the safe kids do work on the Android mobile.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Device name - Redme Note 9 pro max

MIUI ver -MIUI global 13.0.2

Android version - 12 SKQ1.211019.001

Steps taken by me to block the kids phone.

1. Login to SafeKids

2. Select the kids name. Go to settings. Select the kids phone . Block device and set the device usage time. Everytime it used to block the phone.

But now kid has become smarter.

Steps taken by kid to circumvent the SafeKids

1. Restarts the phone.

2. While booting he presses the down volume button until the logo of the MI changes to yellow.

3. Now the mobile opens in safe mode and SafeKids do not work.

In the attached file look at the bottom left corner of the SS, the phone is open in the safe mode. Now he can do whatever he wants even though from my end the device is blocked.

In App monitoring, all the apps are allowed as shown in the SS

Hello @chandan gupta

Thank you for the information!

  1. In the 2nd image - open the Apps (additional exclusions), what are those two exclusions - post an image?
  2. In the 2nd image - change Unknown to Forbidden/Blocked

Hello @chandan gupta

Thank you for the information!

  1. Settings should be Forbidden/blocked; it's like giving the child the keys to the bank; change it please.
  2. We're not familiar with Assistant, do you mean Google Assistant?, post an image of the Assistant icon please?

Thank you🙏

Hello @chandan gupta

Thank you for the information!

  1. For our understanding, are there two children & two android phones?
  2. So, is (your) concern with the second phone the fact that YouTube is still working, in Safe Mode?
  3. KSK version on both phones?
  4. Uninstall, reboot = full power OFF, ON, login, download new KSK & clean install KSK, on both phones, follow the onscreen instructions carefully -> make sure *all permissions* are granted.
  5. Retest the Safe Mode issue & post back the results please?

Thank you🙏

I have the same problem, Kaspersky Safe Kids don't restrict the SAFE MODE in the Xiaomi Smartphone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 11), so it's useless. All the configuration that is done is worth nothing because starting the smartphone in SAFE MODE is very easy to deactivate KSK. I would like to know if Kaspersky don't restrict the SAFE MODE or if I have something misconfigured in my children smartphone, because I followed all the steps exactly.

Hello, I have also the same problem. My son just discovered this trick and I haven't found the solution to block safe mode access. Is Kaspersky able to give a solution ? Seems other parental control apps offer this lock option on safe mode

Due to the very nature of safe mode and how it disables 3rd party apps I don't see how this is fixable by Kaspersky or any other developer. Maybe the phone has a built-in family protection which can be enabled that prevents this but without that it might be worth a discussion with your child and asking why they want to circumvent protection you have put in place for them.
