I have Kaspersky Premium installed with Windows 11 Home which doesn't include Bitlocker.

I want to protect a USB Drive with a password and rther than look for third party software I wondered if it was possible to configure it somehow with Kaspersky Vault options?

  1. I cant see anything in the links to create a password, just how to back up?

Hello @Richchad,

You're most welcome!

Thank you for posting back & the comment!

  1. Read fromYou can optionally specify a password that protects your backup copies from unauthorized access. To do this, click Set in the Password section and set the password ->  password option is available in the backup tool:

*IF there's any issues please log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service, https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts - select either Chat or Email, then fill in the template as shown; include a *detailed history

*Also* -> IF using Chat - *before* ending the chat -> ask the operator to email (you) a copy of the chat transcript - otherwise (you'll) have no record of the chat*

Thanks Flood, I tried it but unfortunately it will only password protect individual folders not a complete drive.

I could put all individual folders into one folder but as I run a program direct from the USB drive it becomes a bit messy.

I guess I will have to look for a third party program to password protect a USB drive.

Thanks anyway.

@Flood and Flood's wife Just an update which some might find useful, I managed to use Kaspersky Secret Vault feature by creating a vault on the USB stick, when I now insert the USB stick it prompts me for a password and opens the folder on the USB stick which then allows me to open the program etc I have on the USB stick.
