Kaspersky Total Banned For US?

I bought kaspersky few years ago while in the US.  Bought it directly from the Kapersky USA website or Kaspersky website while in the US.  I then renewed it by buying it on Amazon US as it cost less.  This is however, when I'm outside the US as I am abroad most of the year.  After I bought it, I got the subscription key and then entered it into my Kaspersky Total that expired.  I did the same thing the next year with buying it off Amazon US and was abroad as well.  I did recall my Kaspersky Total was expired for a bit longer because renewing it again.

 

At the moment, I'm still abroad and not in the US.  My Kaspersky Total is going to expire soon.  I noticed, Kaspersky Total is no longer available to purchase on Amazon US and noticed it wasn't even available for many months prior to this.  I then noticed that Kaspersky Total got banned in the US?  The thing that has me confused is I read people said anyone that is in the US and using Kaspersky Total, the program got uninstalled by itself and it reinstalled another type of anti-virus program.  Is that true?  I forgot the name of it but if that happens, people are still using that now assuming they have an active subscription?  Or it no longer works?

 

The thing is it doesn't show anything different when I'm using Kaspersky Total while outside the US.  I could do an update and it updates.  I can do a virus scan and I can do this.  I assume I have no issue with any of this because I been using Kaspersky Total while outside the US and thus using it with an non US ISP address... is that correct?  So I can continue using it until it expires which is soon.  However, what are my options to renew it if I can do that?  The thing is... isn't my Kaspersky Total Client US based though?  So if I buy a Kaspersky Total subscription renewal... it's another name now right?  Then wouldn't I need to download a new Kaspersky program or can I still use the same one? 

 

The other thing is what would happen if I am in the US as I travel?  Does the moment my laptop turns on, Kaspersky get uninstalled immediately?  Or only when I open the program and then it recognizes I'm in the US?  My current Kaspersky Total will expire before I go back to the US.  But I want to renew my Kaspersky Total. 

 

The thing is if I renew Kaspersky Total while outside the US by buying a subscription, what happens when I am in the US and use my laptop?  Will It uninstall Kaspersky when I'm in the US the moment I turn on my laptop?  Or only if I open the program?  Or if I do a virus scan or update?  But I can download Kaspersky or activate it again when back outside the US?  Do I pause Kaspersky the moment I leave outside the US so when I'm in the US and then turn on my laptop, Kaspersky isn't turned on so it wouldn't recognize I'm in the US?  So I then just use the free Windows Microsoft Defender in the US until I go outside the US and then unpause Kaspersky?  

 

What other options do I have here?  I heard you could buy another anitvirus but I want to stick with Kaspersky Total as it seems simple.   I like Kaspersky Total was well because the last few renewals, I was able to buy it for a low price on Amazon US.  What are my options now?

READ *all* of the: Guide on Kaspersky software availability in the United States. 

Use a VPN.

I previously had bought a renewal key on Amazon US to renew it.  I was told you can't do that or it might not work etc but it did back then.

 

Where would I buy a renewal subscription now then that Amazon US doesn't sell it anymore?  So if I buy a new subscription, I can only use it while outside the US unless I use a VPN in the US?  Say I want to continue using it outside the US.  So before I go back to the US, pause Kaspersky Total so that when I'm back in the US and turn on my laptop, Kaspersky Total won't know since it's paused?  But if it isn't paused and it recognizes I'm in the US, would it automatically uninstall Kaspersky Total though?  Would kaspersky total detect it the moment I power on my laptop in the US?  I assume yes?  I can't imagine if when I try to do a kaspersky update right because it would detect it the moment laptop is turned on?

(you) can purchase a Kaspersky Standard, Plus & OR Premium subscription from Kaspersky's Global website - as long as the purchase is made  *outside* of the US - using an address *outside* of the US. 

Kaspersky Standard, Plus & OR Premium subscriptions purchased from Kaspersky's Global website have no regional restrictions. 

To use the Kaspersky software *within* the US, use a VPN.
