Hi all, struggling quite a lot to find the problem with my installer.

Recently paid for an upgrade to premium and wanted to download it on my mac

Installer won't progress, and I keep getting told that  "The data couldn’t be written because of an error in the destination for the data". Have tried everything, I've uninstalled kaspersky IS, have rebooted multiple times, have update my system, have even checked the tmp files and all seems in order.

Any advice??

Yes it sounds frustrating to deal with Kaspersky installation issues.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem with the Kaspersky installer on your Mac:

  1. Check Disk Space: Ensure you have enough free space on your hard drive. Sometimes, installers require more space than indicated.

  2. Permissions Check:

    • Go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.
    • Select your hard drive and click on First Aid to check for any disk errors.
    • Ensure that your user account has the necessary permissions to write to the installation directory.
  3. Clear Temporary Files:

    • Open Finder, then press Command + Shift + G and type /private/tmp to access the temporary files.
    • Delete any Kaspersky-related files if they exist.
  4. Safe Mode:

    • Restart your Mac in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key during boot.
    • Try running the installer again in Safe Mode.
  5. Terminal Commands:

    • Open Terminal and try resetting permissions with the following command:
      Copy
      sudo chmod -R 755 /Applications/Kaspersky\ Internet\ Security.app
    • Replace the path with the correct one if needed.
  6. Re-download the Installer: Sometimes, the installer file may be corrupted. Try downloading the latest version of the installer from the Kaspersky website again.

  7. Contact Kaspersky Technical Support: If none of the above steps work, it might be best to reach out to Kaspersky support for further assistance.

Hopefully, one of these steps will help you resolve the installation issue!

Thank you
