Hello @Dave2339

Welcome!

Please try this solution from @Igor Kurzin

  1. Open Kaspersky Total Security (KTS), select Settings⚙, select General, uncheck Enable Self-Defense, select Save, select Yes to confirm the action.
  2. Exit KTS - on the Windows taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select Exit.
  3. Go to folder C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Report\ and delete the contents = all files and folders.
  4. Start KTS.
  5. Enable Self-Defense.
  6. Shutdown the computer, using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login.
  7. Re-check the issue?

Please share the outcome, with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you?

I am sorely tempted to look for a new AV after this...

Thanks to Flood and Flood's Wife for the solution!!!

The "PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR" error took Firefox completely out of action for me after simply adding my new KIS activation code...

Then Drop box stopped working

Then Outlook Email stopped working

To say I've had a FRUSTRATING couple of days would be an understatement

Not helped by Apple Fanboys with their helpful "Buy a Mac" comments... ?

back up and running now though, thanks again F&FW :)

I am having the same problem...since a couple of days ago, I am unable to use any browser while KTS is running. However, I cannot use F&FW's solution for my system, since I don't have any report folder in my KTS installation:

Any ideas how I can fix that browser issue?

I see that this is an old problem, but new for me. I wish I knew what caused the problem to begin with, but I just renewed KTS--maybe that had something to do with it?  After fits-and-starts, I stumbled on Flood's solution and it worked. Thanks.

Hello @JoeNSD

Thank you for posting back & the udate, we're delighted to read the solution worked.

Regarding renewing KTS, there's still the option to upgrade / covert KTS to Kaspersky Plus for *free*, the upgrade = *like-for-like*, so, Kaspersky Plus will have Standard/Free VPN, not Unlimited, as KTS comes with  Standard/Free VPN, converted Kaspersky Plus also includes Kaspersky Password Manager Premium & Kaspersky Safe Kids Premium - for 1 year.

Read: Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium - info & FAQ, by Danila T.  & IF proceeding with the upgrade:

Follow these steps to prepare, uninstall & install:

  1. Do a System backup.
  2. *Important* make sure the KTS *Activation code* is stored in (your) MyKaspersky account.
  3. Export KTS Settings/configuration. Follow: How to export application settings.  (Do not Import into the new app, it's a backup config only at the moment).
  4. Uninstall KTS, follow: How to uninstall the application, do not Save any data for future use - except for *License information* & Data vault - IF you've ever created & used the Data vaults.
  5. *Upgrade* to Kaspersky Plus: use *link* in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium - info & FAQ, by Danila T.Kaspersky Plus & How to install the application?
  6. Make sure to sign into (your) MyKaspersky account -> from the Kaspersky Plus app, to ensure the app & the account synchronise & the license information is validated?
  7. At the completion of the upgrade, make sure the computer is shutdown, rebooted.
  8. After logging back in, run a Full scan - make sure it's clean.
  • Any issues, please post back?

Thank you🙏

Same issue, same solution. Thank you!

Edit: Would be nice if this feature - and it's grip on browser/internet traffic has some better exposure. How is anyone who is not an Kaspersky Expert and or Engineer supposed to find THIS vague and hidden feature - and then realize this is what blocks traffic? Exactly, you don't.

The only solution I had was to default back to Windows Defender - for quite some time. I severely dislike autonomy in my Anti-Virus solutions - expose it better, or accept more users switching. KIS is my tentpole tool against malware - but not without limits.

Have a great day.

Hello @xpgx1

Welcome!

We're pleased the solution worked, thank you for taking the time to update the Community!

There's actually two fixes, the one you used OR:

  1. KIS is from Kaspersky's *old* software range, IF the issue repeats OR if (you) wish to do so now, (you) can upgrade to Kaspersky Standard, from Kaspersky's *new* software range, the upgrade is free, please readKaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium - info & FAQ, by Danila T. ;
  2.  Kaspersky Standard can be downloaded from here: https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads#update-product

Any issues or concerns, please post back?

Thank you🙏

I just have this issue this past 2 weeks and trying to solve it to no avail. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

When using Firefox, I am getting PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR in any tab I open or refresh.  When using Edge, I am getting ERR_CONNECTION_RESET. The error goes away when I disable Kaspersky.

Error does not happen in Chrome. But this week, it started to block my e-mail, in both POP and IMAP setting.

I am Running Windows 10, Firefox 138.0.4 (64-bit), Kaspersky Total Security

This started happening about 2 week ago suddenly.

Hello @Alvin - STF

Welcome!

  • Kaspersky Total Security (KTS) is Kaspersky's old software, it's been replaced by Kaspersky Plus, it can be upgraded for free, the upgrade is like-for-like  - READKaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium - info & FAQ by Danila T.  & there's a known issue with v21.3 that's been fixed in the new version, there's two options, a free upgrade to the new version or a workaround to the existing version, please read on:

*Option one*

  1. Make sure the KTS activation code is saved in (your) MyKaspersky account, Subscription tab?
  2. Create a System Restore Point
  3. Uninstall KTS, using Windows, Uninstall OR change a program -> during the *uninstall* do not check/tick any boxes *except* Save license & IF (you've) created Secret vault(s) check/tick the Data Encryption box; READHow to uninstall the application
  4. After KTS is uninstalled, shutdown the computer using Shutdown, not Restart, power ON the computer by pressing the power button, login.
  5. Download Kaspersky Plushttps://www.kaspersky.com/downloads#update-product
  6. Install Kaspersky Plus
  7. *Important* At the *end* of the successful Kaspersky Plus install, make sure you've signed into the Kaspersky Plus application with the same email address that (you) use to sign into (your) MyKaspersky account - so it synchronises with (your) MyKaspersky account.
  8. Recheck the original issue?

*Option two*

  1. Make sure Windows Hidden items, is checked -> refer: View hidden files and folders in Windows
  2. *important* -> open Kaspersky app, select Settings⚙ -> General, uncheck Enable Self-Defense, select Save, select Yes to confirm the action.
  3. Exit Kaspersky app - on the Windows taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select Exit.
  4. Go to folder C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Report\ and delete the contents -> all files and folders.
  5. Shutdown the computer, using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login.
  6. Make sure KTS is running?
  7. *important* -> Enable Self-Defense.
  8. Re-check the issue(s)?

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you🙏

Kaspersky Total Security

Please upgrade for free to Kaspersky Plus ?

Edit : With an on-top install Kaspersky Plus will import your KTS license & settings.
