Corrupted MDNS packet coming from Kaspersky Premium firewall component

Hi!

I have noticed corrupted MDNS traffic coming from a computer running Kaspersky Premium being logged by my pfSense firewall.

mdns-bridge logs it as "host a.b.c.d error decoding packet: decoded length (17) != packet length (42)"

over and over and over again...

(Avahi has an error message as well but it did not identify the source, mdns-bridge does....)

Disabling Kaspersky's Premium firewall component stops the problem from occuring but that is obviously not a solution.

I contacted support but I must send them the same email like 3 times for them to acknowledge receiving it and they are treating it as if it was a problem Kaspersky Premium was causing to another application running on my computer and not a problem reported by my pfSense firewall... I have been in IT professionally for over 32 years, what they are asking me to do doesn't feel like it will lead to a solution and having to resend everything like 3 times each time to get an answer is getting old..

Has anyone heard of this problem and knows of a solution?

I have been using Kaspersky products for at least two decades I believe and would like to continue to do so...

Thank you and have a nice day!

Welcome to Kaspersky Community.

Please provide versions of KPremium and operating system.

I guess They requested You K. product traces. It make sense even if Your pfSense is not installed in that system. How would You try to find the issue if not getting (at least) KPrem. traces in that system which is supposedly the source of the problem? 🤔
