I’ve done every thing you suggested currently in the full scan step which on my system takes over 10 hours. In the past have done quick scan rootkit scan every available scans and they never actually detect it. It is always detected at random intervals but not during any scan, problem is it could take 24 hours for a detection to occur. My only comfort is that when Kaspersky detects it it does say it blocked it but never is able to disinfect. Anyway I’m going to follow the steps you laid out and when I get a detection I’ll send ya the reports

Cursor freezes when using On-screen keyboard [Solved][Closed]
Marlbo replied to Marlbo's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Hi richbuff & Flood thanks for your response (it all helps!) I *think* I may have just sorted the problem, nothing simpler than updating the Kaspersky database which is strange, as I thought it automatic, or at least I would get a prompt to say out of date, never had to do that before.? Flood: that was the first website and time I had the problem, today I added its URL to the Safe List, retried the Website and my Bank site, and received a message for both that there was trouble with Certification/verification and they may not be safe. Opened Kaspersky, saw a lot of orange (warning?) text that it needed updating, it didn't want to update at first, re-booted, selected the Update Automatically (even though it was already selected) Saved, then retried those Websites with no problem and I can hover over the On-Screen keyboard as much as I want without it freezing now. Really don't know what happened there, just one of those never to happen again glitches?....Lets' see! Thanks both for your offers of help Marlbo -
Cursor freezes when using On-screen keyboard [Solved][Closed]
Flood and Flood's wife replied to Marlbo's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Hello Marlbo, As well as the post from Richbuff, do ALL financial sites/online have the same issue with the Onscreen Keyboard & the Protected Browser not opening or one site? While we're trouble shooting/analysing (it wouldn't hurt) to run a full scan, it may a long time, please allow it to complete. Please let us know? Thanks! -
I cannot access any of the Kaspersky settings with Input Director software on Networked PCs [MOVED] [Closed]
Flood and Flood's wife replied to a topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello Skywreck, Thanks for posting back. May I ask, is the original problem: "cannot access any of the Kaspersky settings as the mouse and keyboard are disabled around the borders of Kaspersky interface", slightly different to current issue: "input director mouse is disabled on any Kaspersky window"? And, it's very hard (for me) to see, on the left hand side it looks like there are 2 shortcuts being accessed, 1 (input director?), the other (?S_Cll?) is it possible to move these to a more central/visible position & reproduce please? For my understanding, when [ ]Self Defence is unselected that's using the locally attached mouse? Is that correct? Also, referring to the following image, your .mp4 does not show a PopUp when [ ]Self Defence is changed, is that correct? & please let us know: KIS [Security Level] setting? Secure Data Input Settings? Is KISDT version 3.1.10.217 software still installed? Thanks! https://help.kaspersky.com/KIS/2019/en-US/87342.htm -

Cannot open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC [Closed]
DonB replied to DonB's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hi Shulte, I finally found my answer by using Contana and typing in the response from Windows when I attempted to open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. This is the answer that was posted and it worked like a charm. Correct Answer by Adorobat on Jan 13, 2017 5:48 AM Could you please try the following steps: 1- Close Reader 2- Hold down Windows key and press R on your keyboard, this will bring up Run dialogue box. 3- Type regedit in the run dialogue box and hit Enter, click Yes when User Account Control pop-up appears. 4- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options, delete the key AcroRd32.exe 5- Relaunch Reader Best, DonB -
Hey everyone, The security network is not a VPN, it is a special security network which allows users to get: additional protection level; applications reputation data; websites reputation data; quick reaction on new threats They do however include a program called Kaspersky secure connection with internet security and total security versions but its run by a sketchy third party (top of my head I think it’s hotspot shield)

Which to choose: Skip, Delete, or Add to exclusion? [moved] [Closed]
andpata replied to andpata's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hi @FLOOD , it’s been a while. I got sidetracked after reading your last reply, plus it also looked intimidating at the time, but I finally went ahead and did all those steps quite recently. Thanks for showing me how to create the system restore point by the way, I’m probably going to redo all of this because I didn’t save the tabs I had open for Chrome, but with a quick search I found a link showing me how to save recent tabs as a bookmark folder. Anyway, everything went smoothly. The only issue that happened was during the step where you wanted me to delete all the Temps; some temp files could not be deleted because they were supposedly open in Microsoft Office Click-to-Run Service, while others could not be found or were no longer located in Temps. And later, when I tried to delete app data with my user name (same section of your steps), no files appeared. I assume I did it correctly as you wrote. But overall, my computer seems to be running more smoothly! I notice the difference already. Thank you -
Why is not automatic database working dispite automatic is set in configuration ?
richbuff replied to a topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Welcome. How do you connect to the internet? Is your internet connection ok? Is your internet connection metered? Have you waited 15 minutes after system boot up to see if the update will occur? Reboot, then check system date/time correct, then Settings > Additional > Network > Proxy server > select Do Not use proxy server. Are you on battery or main power? Settings > Performance > uncheck Disable scheduled tasks. Are you in Gaming Profile? Kaspersky Settings > Performance > uncheck Automatically disable some functionality when in full screen mode. Is your Kaspersky license expiring in a few days? If your license is a managed subscription, please click Subscription, located at lower right of the main Kaspersky window, then click the "Update subscription status" button. Then start an Update. If still no go, attach the Detailed update report. Enable Log Non Critical Events: Settings > Additional > Reports and quarantine > check Log Non-critical events. Then do an update. Main Kaspersky window, lower center, More Tools > right side, click Reports > upper right > Detailed reports, upper left > dropdown > Update, select the current entry > right-middle > click Details > Save icon at upper right > Save, name the file and save it somewhere and attach it to your next post. If the file is too large to upload, then zip it (right click, send to > compressed zipped folder) and upload the zip. If the update report appears to be blank, please post the screenshot of the update report. How to take and post screenshot: PrtSc (Print screen) key (upper right part of keyboard)> open Paint (Start > All programs > Accessories) > Edit > Paste, File > Save as (jpeg or png, Not bmp). When replying, bottom left of reply box > Drag files here to attach, or choose files... Submit reply. Disable Log Non Critical Events when done. How much scheduled scan tasks can be useful when we have real-time protection? [moved] [Closed]
Flood and Flood's wife replied to a topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello @MREZA, Scans (scheduled or manual) & RTP are different. Real-Time Protection provides anti-virus protection. The component detects and neutralizes threats, adware, and apps that intruders may use to harm your device or exploit your personal data. Full scan Kaspersky scans the device's entire file system. A full scan helps protect your personal data and money, it detects and eliminates threats on your device (in installed apps and installation packages). A full scan also detects adware and apps that intruders may use to harm your device or exploit your personal data. Quick scan Scans installed apps. Vulnerability Scan Scans the operating system and applications installed on the computer that may have vulnerabilities that can be exploited by malware. Rootkit Scan Scans for a program or a set of programs hiding traces of an intruder or malware in the operating system. Thank you -
Which to choose: Skip, Delete, or Add to exclusion? [moved] [Closed]
andpata replied to andpata's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hi,@FLOOD , sorry for these late replies. Busy weekend. I’m not familiar with one of the objects that was detected. It might just be a notification object that I signed up for on a website, which I’m only assuming because the words ‘Community Alerts’ are in the file name. Also it turns out I have KIS, not KAV. As for my comment, basically just know that I have not made a choice about what to do with the two detected objects I initially showed. But after that second, Full Scan I ran, there were additional objects that I quarantined some time before, which are in the exported text file I shared. I did a quick google search and N360_BACKUP is a back-up for Norton 360, which I had several years ago. I do remember making a couple back-ups for it. I don’t think I’ll go back to Norton 360 any time soon though, so I guess I’ll just delete those files. Unless there’s a better option? I have Honey, and more recently Kaspersky Protection for Chrome. I’ve had Honey for a few months and it appears to have recieved an updated a week ago. Kaspersky Protection looks like it was just added very recently? The windows alert was for user verification. It asked me to enter my password and verify the alternate email address associated with it, which I went ahead and did earier today. Was that okay to do so? I very rarely am asked to verify that information (I can’t remember the last time I was prompted to do that) -
Kaspersky Intenet Security does not work on MacOS Catalina 10.15
Menahouse replied to Menahouse's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello Kaspersky User Grouo, today I installed MacOS Cataline 10.15 on my iMac and it seems to me that my Kaspersky Internet Security does have a problem with it. The problems are the following: Is there any working fix or do I need to wait or what is the best to do now. My Mac is now without security and to wait in this situation is not a good idea. I hope I can get a quick answer here. Thanks in advance! -

Hey, when this window above is open - press on the keyboard IDDQD and the icon should make the switch. -
I don't understand why a second thread would create chaos in tracking? But I can understand why you are changing this thread description to make it look , like there are 2 problems connected together. But that's absolutely not true! KIS18 versions are unable to protect stealing data out of the Safe Browser easily by using the "print" key of your keyboard. Even If you are experiencing no problems with Safe Browser! Thanks for your help, I will contact tech support and post the security issue on facebook.

Since re-installing Kaspersky Total Security MS Word 2000 no longer runs. Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file.
Clearcomms replied to Clearcomms's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Thanks for a quick and very sensible reply - if I had been under less pressure this morning, I hope I would have thought of at least one of these suggestions. I've been out - as the simplest of the three questions answer was "If KTS is disabled, does the error happen?" on my return I closed KTS and tried to start Word. Interestingly, although it had been installed a few hours ago, it went through some of the installation again - and then worked. The villain in the piece is obviously Kaspersky - and once KTS was running again, I closed Word and went to restart it. Back came the error message. So something in KTS is causing the problem. There is nothing significant in Kaspersky Reports. I will try closing KTS and restarting Word, to see if once it is opened it will run normally even if KTS is running. But it is a pain ! -
Thanks for the replies first.Let me tell you I'm really a experienced user working for over 15 years with all kinds of software and operating systems. Of course I'm smart enough to know, that upgrading from KIS18 to KIS19 (clean deinstallation + new install) could solve the problem I was explaining above. But if you read carefully I wanted to know if there is a way of fixing my installation without a new installation. As Fenderman said above , It is common knowledge there had been lots of problem with KIS19 after release, so there is always a reason to still use the KIS18 version if it is working properly for your system. Maybe with the newest Patch E from 8th April KIS19 is working much better and I will git it a try, because until now I still found no way to fix my KIS18 Safe Browser. I will do this later and leave a reply here. But let us please talk again about the BIGGER SEURITY ISSUE I posted above. It seems all KIS18 versions are unable to protect stealing data out of the Safe Browser easily by using the "print" key of your keyboard. People, this is easiest backdoor anyone could use. Unfortunately I was able to reproduce this Issue on my laptop, that is telling me KIS18 works properly and it is protecting me.The laptop isn't using any special 3rd party software to get the information, simple copy past by using print key and Safe Browser was in full screen mode. I will leave you a picture of this at the end of my post, and I think I should open a new thread to spread this information around! Knowing this I would advise everybody to check if this security Issue is still present in the KIS19 version.

Rootkitscan schedule, how to amend the present every 24 hr scan?
Berny replied to DeniseM's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Please go to : Settings > Protection > File Anti-Virus > Advanced Settings > Scan Technologies Concerning Rootkits please see this Blog Also, about Quick Scan -
I'm experiencing really crazy behavior with the Safe Browser of KIS18. I'm using Win7 SP1 64Bit , FireFox 66.0.3 64bit . It was working well in the last weeks/months/years, but since 2 days ago I'm only getting error messages. If I enter Safe Browser for Firefox I get this : Advanced information: As you can see, red error message about Bookmark- and History-Systems that are not functionally. Upper right corner shows a information message for the kaspersky protection add-on, if I click on it : I'm asked to activate the plug-in , but doesn't matter if I click on "activate" because this setting will not be saved. Every time I enter Safe Browser I see the same as shown above. I researched the security settings for crypto modules and certificates. Crypto-modules looks damaged, because of multiple entries, I have no rights do delete the obsolete ones , picture : The Kaspersky certificate is missing, if I try to import it , I'm getting next error , telling me I have no rights to import it : The normal mode of my Firefox is working perfectly, I can open all https / SSL sites, kaspersky certificate installed, no profile issues. I Tried mozilla troubleshooting workarounds and wanted to delete files in profile folder of safe browser firefox profile, but like before I'm not aloud to rename or delete those files. Kaspersky seems to protect this folder. I can't change possession or rights for the profile-folder in C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\SafeBrowser\kis , funny because I'm the only User set for this machine and logged in as Administrator. I still haven't found a way to delete or change this files, but I can change the name of the folder above"kis" . If doing that and starting safe browser again, kaspersky will create a new kis and profile-folder with same problems and no rigths for me to delete the files. Do I really have to re-install KIS or upgrade to KIS19 to get rid of this problem? I don't care about history/settings/bookmarks from safe browser profile , but I don't want to loose all my settings set in KIS and absolutely don't want to loose my working firefox profile or any information within it. I'm having 2 more computers on the same network and operating system, all working still well with safe browser, I can use them If I really need safe browser. But in general I would like to fix this problem on my main machine. ANOTHER BIG SECURITY ISSUE : I was able to get all these screenshots just by the clicking "print" key on my keyboard and copy into paint. Safe Browser was in windowed mode. If using microsoft snipping tool, display information is greyed out and safe browser is protected, but in this case protection totally failed! I will try to reproduce this on other systems.

I checked on my Chrome extension as well and discovered another issue. [Closed]
mikethebike replied to mikethebike's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Berny I checked on my Chrome extension as well and discovered I had the previous version so removed it and installed the latest then rebooted. I already had the latest Chrome but downloaded it again. How ever I now have a grey K shield as opposed to the green one on all sites and when I click on it only the grey icon shows with a line through the eye in the middle the eye plus a grey line then X then another grey line plus a box with green dots in it. When I put the cursor on it, it says Kaspersky Protection has access to the site but I do not get the options of Secure Keyboard, Anti banner etc What do I need to do? Thanks mikethebike -
Rootkitscan schedule, how to amend the present every 24 hr scan?
DaffyDuck replied to DeniseM's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Thank you Berny. You were correct. I got it going after a couple more attempts. The first few times it kept getting interrupted and stopping - I have no idea why. It just seemed very finicky. But I tried again and it worked and went through the end - took all of 26 minutes I have a couple of questions - Where does this scan (launched from the command line) pick up its settings from? It seems to be running with some default values at the moment. For example, How do I enable "iSwift"? Which files does the Rootkit Scan look at? All the objects loaded in memory? I do see that most of the files picked were Windows System, Common and Font files + Program Files that were open and running Does a Quick Scan look at all of the same objects that the Rootkit Scan does? Thank you -

Disable quick access pull-down menu on Android 7.
Flood and Flood's wife replied to squbbles's topic in Kaspersky Safe Kids
Hello squbbles, The Kaspersky escalation team have just advised the issue has been escalated to the Kaspersky developers as a bug. This is a much better status than "suggestion" as it shows Kaspersky have realised, children having access to Quick Access, allows them to disable critical KSK functions, the ramifications being, children may be in a dangerous or precarious situation(s) and cannot be located. No eta atm, but a good result - thank you again squbbles:clap_tone3: -
