So, an update. I was just googling to find a solution and stumbled on 2 sites that offer the extension as a .crx file to download. They seemed legit, even had valid certificates by Kaspersky (the irony!). I tried to download it but got blocked by my KS. One of the sites had a download link to the webstore which took me directly to the extension (finally!). I have successfully added it. Here are the sites and links below.
