Web browsing got suddenly very slow. found the bottleneck. need advice

Hi, Web browsing got suddenly very slow. found the bottleneck. Turned off Kaspersky’s “Scan encrypted connections” in security options. Got back to full speed but Kaspersky warns about HUGE decrease in security. OK now I have to choose between that or VERY slow browsing because of traffic capture and upload/download to Kasperski reputational servers?

Why did it get so much slower?
Any thoughts?

Thanks

@TMT Bienvenu sur le Forum.

Can you please provide your K Free and Windows OS version.

  • Author

Sure:

K Free : 21.26.4.406 ; Windows 11 25H2, up to date

PS: I uninstalled K Free, Windows security took over, speed back to normal. Re installed K free, web browsing slow again. Turned off Kaspersky’s “Scan encrypted connections”; speed back again.
Thanks.

Thank you for your feedback , I presume this is a Technical Support issue (only for licensed K products) , but are your Windows Preview updates disabled 🤔 ?

No, I suppose this is a Kaspersky issue, not mine. For the second question, I don't understand it.

Please check : Windows Update → "Get the latest updates as soon as they are available" ? Disabled ?
In some cases Kaspersky doesn't support Windows Preview Updates ...

Yes. Disabled.

@ThomasT

Did you try this ?

Network settings

→ Network settings

" If the Scan encrypted connections upon request from protection components option is selected, Kaspersky application uses the installed Kaspersky certificate to verify the security of SSL connections if this is required by the Safe Browsing and URL Advisor protection components. If these components are disabled, Kaspersky application does not verify the security of SSL connections."

I'ts exactly what I did. OK, the screenshot is in French but I could have guessed even in Russian...

BTW. when installing K Free, it checks yours country settings in Windows I suppose. So it uses the local language. In my case, Switzerland, it proposes the 3 official languages, French, German and Italian. No other choice. Personally I prefer English but could not find in K Free settings where to set that.

There is no option to change the language in Kaspersky , the procedure is installing K Free EN version.
