Unable to import data from the vault created in an older version of Kaspersky Password Manager.

Recently had to re-activate a Win 10 Lenova M72 desktop to use a high resolution scanner driver no longer supported in Win 11.   I needed spare space so deleted PWM (which had been working fine) along with some other programs.

ReloadedKaspersky Plus and PWM  however now it will no longer sync after logging in.....nor will it import the backup copy of the vault exported from an Asus Win 11 laptop.  The vault password is correct.  The Asus and iPhone are syncing the vault perfectly.

Win 10 Pro - 10.0.19045 Build 19045

WPM: 25.0.0.501 (a) / 1760810612_7731 / 1.1.0.2_1 loadedBoth machines have the latest KPM software....both are registered devices in My Kaspersky.....I've tried removing Kaspersky and reloading it.....any thoughts before I just give up and move to different password management software?  😂

Hello @KoDan

Welcome back!

Reading the problem history, (ioo) it's unusual to have a "Failed to import data" under these circumstances - there's *very-old* doco that covers the issue IF the KPM versions are *different* ->  IF we understand the information provided that's *not* the case here, but, it's worth a read so we're providing it on an *information-only-not-solution* basis:  Importing data from previous versions of Kaspersky Password Manager.

Is the KPM software installed on the Win 10 Lenovo from the *combined* Kaspersky Plus/KPM OR an individual install of KPM? IF it's combined -> *uninstall* KPM, reboot with a *full* power OFF, power ON, download a new KPM, install KPM, recheck the sync & data import issues - IF the issues persist please submit a request to Kaspersky Customer Servicehttps://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts -> select Email, fill in the template as shown & please provide a *detailed history*:

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you🙏

Yes, the confusing aspect of is:

1. they are the exact same version of the software.

2. the vault password challenge is accepted yet the data won’t import

3. Vault syncing is working perfectly with two other devices

I really need another PC to test…..🙃

  • Thanks 1
