Steam not downloading when kaspersky anti virus app is active

Hi Kaspersky team,

Good Day.

I noticed recently that when my Kaspersky Anti Virus app is on, steam is not downloading. When I turn it off, steam can download without any issue. I am not using Kaspersky Internet Security btw. How can I exclude Steam from Kaspersky? I tried the exclusions section but I am not sure if I am doing it right as afterwards kapersky is throwing error. When I check exclusions list, Steam is not added.

Please see attached screenshots. I would greatly appreciate if you can provide step by step instructions on how to solve this issue.

  1. Which OS, use Danila T's guide - at the end of this topic - to assist you providing the correct information? 
  2. Which KAV version & patch(x) (the image you've shown is for Kaspersky original software, not Kaspersky's new software -> Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium) - use Danila T's guide - at the end of this topic - to assist you providing the correct information? 
  3. In KAV Reports - are there any Steam errors - take a full screen screen-print or SAVE the report as a text file, upload to any cloud service of your choice & post back the share link please? 
  4. Read:  KAV, Threats and Exclusions, Manage exclusions
  5. Read: KAV, File Anti-Virus settings, Exclusions
  6. Depending on the *error* a solution from @Igor Kurzin may be useful, please post back the above requested information so we can further assist?

Also, can you locate Log files under folder :
“C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP<application version>\Traces”

OS: Windows 10 V22H2

KAV: Kaspersky Anti Virus 21.3.10.391

No Steam errors in KAV Reports

I have followed the instructions in Step 4. I have shown them also in my screenshots, but at the end it have thrown an error. Please advise.

⛔FYI, it was not necessary to post the traces file⛔

Please try this solution from @Igor Kurzin

  1. Make sure Windows Hidden files, is checked/ticked, refer: View hidden files and folders in Windows?
  2. Open Kaspersky app, select Settings⚙, select General, uncheck Enable Self-Defense, select Save, select Yes - to confirm the action.
  3. Exit Kaspersky app - on the Windows taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select Exit.
  4. Go to folder C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Report\ and delete the contents = all files and folders.
  5. Start Kaspersky app.
  6. Enable Self-Defense.
  7. Shutdown the computer, using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login.
  8. Re-check the issue?
