hello, i would be appreciated if you can help resolve these problems...

1. bitcomet and bittorrent installer (.exe) is deleted by kaspersky immediately after downloading it, how to resolve?

2. kaspersky deleted suspected/infect file once after manual scan, how to change it to ask before taking action?

 

 

i have been using kaspersky, bitcomet and bittorrent for years, i want to update bittorrent and download it from official website but failed.  the exe file is reported as "Virus detected" and was deleted once i downloaded it.  then i tried download latest version from official website of bitcomet and result the same issue.

i then scanned the saved old version installer (.exe) from my harddisk, one of the installer file is deleted by kaspersky automatically, it is reported that as "legitimate software that can be used by criminals to damage your computer or personal data", there were no problems with kaspersky before and not sure what happened (i usually scan download installer file manually to make sure no infect).

We can replicate the issue.

  1. Download the zip file, (ours was not deleted until extraction), don't extract, **add a password  to the zip file - either MALWARE or INFECTED & tell support the password** -> log a case with Kaspersky Customer Service, https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts  - on the support page, select either Chat or Email, then fill in the template as shown; please include a *detailed history*. Support may request logs, traces & other data, they will guide you.

i converted KIS to standard, then try download the bitcomet and bittorrent installer, i can download bittorrent installer now but bitcomet installer is deleted after download instantly, and i still can't figure out what's wrong

sorry that i dont know how to replicate the issue and not sure where to download the zip file as well, perhaps it is a bit complicated to my level of skill

 

also, i am not sure where to configure kaspersky standard...

  1. how to allow download of bitcomet?
  2. how to change it to ask before taking action (delete, disinfect, quarantine, etc)?

in Security Setting > Intrusion Prevent, bitcomet is allowed

Thank you for posting back & the information!

  1. Just for our clarity, the bitcomet installer comes in the same zip download - is that not true? (It did for us).
  2. When (you) download are you getting a detection from the browser as well as from Kaspersky? IF 'yes', try another browser. 
  3. For "how to change it to ask before taking action (delete, disinfect, quarantine, etc)?", go to: Security Settings,  Exclusions and actions on object detection - *uncheck* Perform recommended actions automatically - see images

2. not sure if it detected by browser, but i can download bitcomet installer with firefox (used chrome before), and installer is not deleted instantly.  kaspersky extensions are enabled on both firefix and chrome, also, at this moment the security setting is not yet changed, i wonder why there are different treatments, but if it is not kaspersky on browser, what else can do this?

 

after following your security setting instruction, bitcomet installer is not deleted.  earlier before i tried disable kaspersky protection for 5 mins, then i downloaded that installer, then i moved installer to another partition, 5 mins passed, kaspersky alerted it is deleted, message in notification center is "Legitimate software that can be used by intruders to damage your computer or personal data."

 

after this all, there is alert message from manual scan bitcomet installer (bittorrent installers also comes with the same alert), is there problem on it?

Thank you for posting back & the information!

*All* you need to do is password protect the downloaded zip file (With MALWARE or INFECTED - as the password) so you can submit it to Kaspersky Customer Service for them to send it to Kaspersky Virus Lab experts to determine why the issue is happening. 

*Do not try to extract OR run the executables until the experts have analysed the issue & given you an answer*

The steps are as follows: 

  1. Hello @Flood and Flood's wife , i submitted this case to kaspersky CS after your guide

 

FYI, a moment before, i try to download those installer files again with chome and it is deleted instantly after download again.  however, if download installers by firefox (with kaspersky extensions), it is not deleted instantly.

 

anyway, great THANKS to your help ☺️ , i will wait for support from CS,
