Hello.

I wanted to renew my subscription today, just noticed that Kaspersky Anti-Virus is no longer available. (why?)

Anyways. I installed Kaspersky Standard, but it installed in French.

Everything on my computer is in English, including Windows. I do live in France, but I want my programs to be installed in English.

I searched everywhere in the program, didn't find any language option.

How do you switch your language in Kaspersky Standard?

Thank you for reading.

You cannot change the language in the installed program. You need to download and install the English version of the program. For example from here - https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/standard

Alright. I won't install it again. I'm afraid it'll stay in French.

I changed the language of My Kaspersky to English as soon as I created the account.

Why was the installer downloaded in French? This makes no sense.

Edit: Also, when I bought Kaspersky Standard, I wasn't provided with any activation code. Just a link to My Kasperky, with which I was able to download the program.

If I use the link you posted, I can't do anything with the program, because it won't be activated, and I have nothing to activate it with.

And why was the language option removed? It was there in the previous versions.

You apparently have the region France on My Kaspersky, so the program was downloaded in French.
The license is tied to your account, so after installing the program, you just need to connect to My Kaspersky and the program will be activated.

Alright. Well, considering I basically won't see Kaspersky's interface most of the time, I guess this will do.

I still do not understand why the language option was removed, it's an extremely basic thing to have in a program, one of the most basic in fact.

Edit: I set my region to France because that's where I live. If I set something else that would have been incorrect information, and the way it was worded made me think that I wouldn't have been able to use what I had paid for.

Still, no reason to remove the option. More and more companies are doing this, you're not the only one, and I fail to understand why.

It has never been possible to change the language of the installed program.

You can change temporally the GUI from French to English with key combination SHIFT + F12 (or back with SHIFT + F5), but in every system will start with the original language again, so you should use again the 1st combination.

Then why was I able to switch Kaspersky Anti-Virus from French to English on my previous system? Without reinstalling anything, that is.

I mean, this is literally what you find if you Google it:

https://support.kaspersky.com/KSS/4.0/en-EN/93599.htm

Are you telling me this is incorrect information?

That article link is related to a different obsolete product (Kaspersky Security Scan).

Hello @Euphytose,

your link refers to an old, no longer supported version (as @harlan4096 already posted):

Kaspersky Security Scan 4.0 and all previous versions of the application are no longer supported by AO Kaspersky Lab.

In current versions, the switch option might still exist in special versions. I think of Canada and Switzerland, where there are several official languages.

you need to contact K support and change the region of your my Kaspersky account. after that the installer you download from my kaspersky website will get right language.

not only the language of the website.

Yes, but if I do that, I'm basically lying about my location, and I don't think they would like that.

you can ask support if there is a global version to obtain and activate.

it is the best idea to get an english language version which also comply with GDPR.

Simple. In my case, switching between languages is done with Ctrl+Fn+F12 and Ctrl+Fn+F5 when you are on the main screen of Kaspersky Standard. (The official advice from Kaspersky was Ctrl+F12 and Ctrl+F5, but for my keyboard an additional "Fn" press was required). Please try this.

Fn is not needed simply Shift+F5 or F12
