Has the KIS 1User 3Yr Boxed Editions been discontinued in India?

Recommended Posts

Has the KIS Boxed Editions been discontinued in India? I am not seeing them anywhere and my License is about to end. Only way to buy is from shady key sellers on Amazon or pay extra on Kaspersky India website. Local retailers are saying no stock of the product since many months.

Hello @rounakr94

Welcome back!

  1. There is a legitimate Amazon outlet that distributes Kaspersky software.
  2. Best to contact Kaspersky support, possibly a regional marketing team will need to be consulted, we've not been able to get much information about the region for the last 11 months?

On the support page select either Chat or Email, then select Order and payment issues, Pricing, discounts, how to purchase, etc. template; support will assist if they can.

  • Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you?

Couldn't find any credible info about the same. Looks like have to purchase online with extra price for 2 year validity instead of 3.

Hello @rounakr94

You're most welcome!

That's a very unusual Support response, is that what they said?

We're surprised?

They clearly denied the existence of any boxed products and said they can't comment on keys sold on Amazon. And were constantly nagging me to purchase from Kaspersky store which I did in the past. I will contact the previously authorised dealer name on the last box I purchase to see if they have any clue.

The keys have to come from Kaspersky and not from a keygen I suppose as they are now checked properly by the servers before activation and people have been using them for more than few years and not blaclisted.

Anyways, support also said to wait out the rest of the remaining 120 days of license validity to see if boxed versions are relaunched.

Am not in India but also wondering this having seen new products listed in the Apple App Store offering protection for iOS which is something new to me.

Checking the UK Kaspersky website it would appear that KIS is now a legacy product so wonder if this is why no boxed editions can be found.

It looks like users are being encouraged to switch to the newer platforms.

Hello @Gniblett

Welcome back!

  1. Kaspersky Plus & Kaspersky Premium support iOS.
  2. Kaspersky's new range has been released; however, Kaspersky users still have a choice, please read:  Don’t worry, we’re still supporting your existing product; & legacy software can still be purchased / downloaded from Kaspersky's Global website: https://www.kaspersky.com/home-security.
  3. Correct, but refer to 2. above.
  4. Don't know.

Thank you?

Thank you ??  that is reassuring. I am running the latest version of KIS. The ideal time to change will be when my licence is up for renewal but this isn't for 2 years ? so I hope that these legacy products will remain up to the mark and supported till then if there isn't an easy way to transfer over. Must admit I do like the idea of adding protection to iOS though.

“Kaspersky Security & VPN” for iOS is separately available on the App Store.

Thanks Berny, I had noticed that but was confused by the In App purchases. I really don’t want to pay too much as I already have a licence for KIS for nearly two more years so would try it for an all in payment of £5.99 for all access, but really don’t understand what that means when looking down the list of in App Purchases.

Mmmm that would make it very expensive on top if an existing licence for KIS on my PC. When the software description allows 3 devices on one licence for the standard version as a minimum. I would need to transfer my licence to the new software somehow to cover all three devices at a single cost.
