Cannot install Kaspersky Free on a Win11 23H2 VM, but I can install it on the same non-VM OS

Recommended Posts

When attempting to install Kaspersky Free on a Virtual Machine running Windows 11 23H2, an error message appears stating that the OS does not meet the requirements. However, I successfully installed the same Kaspersky Free application on non-VM Windows 11 23H2 computers. Please refer to the attached screenshot for details.

Any assistance on how to install it on the VM would be appreciated.

Turns out the issue is likely related to the fact that this is a Windows 11 'Enterprise multi-session' edition, rather than the more common Home/Pro edition.

Any confirmation from the Kaspersky team would be appreciated. Also, is this expected behavior for this edition of Windows 11?

Well, it can be successfully installed on unactivated Windows 11, which converts to the 'Enterprise multi-session' edition after activation. So it doesn't make sense for it to work fine on the 'Enterprise multi-session' edition of Windows but not be able to install on this edition 🤷‍♂️
