Both Kaspersky and Windows Defender are turned on by default after update to 21.18.5.438

Recommended Posts

After update to Kaspersky 21.18.5.438 I am seeing that sometimes both Windows Defender and Kaspersky are both turned on by default after system boot which shouldn't be the case.

Application Version: Kaspersky Premium 21.18.5.438

Windows Version:
Edition    Windows 10 Pro
Version    22H2
Installed on    ‎13-‎02-‎2024
OS build    19045.4529
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19058.1000.0

Managed to grab a screenshot from Windows Security. This happened twice after new app install. Didn't happen after that till now, PC turned off and on 8-9 times maybe.

Everything is on default and I didn't change anything.

Can’t you disable WD in MSCONFIG > Services ?

Well, it should be disabled automatically once it detects another provider. Anyways, I will monitor to see if the issue occurs again. Might have been because the app was recently updated so wasn't detected by Defender.
