  1. I live in Italy. Moved from the US THREE YEARS AGO. I purchased new subscription for Kaspersky AV four day before expiration. However, four days after I purchased a new subscription to Kaspersky AV, I found on my credit card statement a new charge of $129.99 made by ULTRAANTIVIRUS.COM Boston USA. I guess, active Kaspersky AV protected my computer from unauthorized installation of a new antivirus. I did not get any email or other information from ULTRAAV. However, so far, my request to the credit card company to cancel this charge was unsuccessful. I would love to know, is there anyone who had the same problem, and how to fight it.
  2. US, Windows 10, license expires March 12, 2025. Both Kaspersky and UltraAV are running. Performance Is slow, Firefox occasionally completely freeses for about a minute. The menus are very slow to open in LibreOffice documents (3-5) seconds. These processes are loaded in task manager. Kaspersky (32 bit) Kaspersky lab launcher (32 bit) Kaspersky VPN secure connection (32 bit) Kaspersky VPN secure connection service (32 bit) AV Active monitor service AV Active monitor tray AV Watchdog service AV Active monitor service AV DBServer AV UltraVPN Previously I tried to solve this problem by uninstalling UltraAV. But then when I learned that the database doesn't update, I reinstalled it. There are now mixed indications of the database being updated. Also, the proces "System" is about 30% Q Should both security programs be running at the same time? Q How can I improve the performance?
  3. Hello, Please contact with ULTRAAV team via https://support.ultraantivirus.com/hc/en-us
  4. The new branding (and US control) of the Anti-virus seems to do everything that Kaspersky used to do. Is this just a transfer of technology, like they are forcing tiktok to do or is it different software?
  5. So, let me get this straight. I can buy any program in the world, from any country, but Kaspersky is pulling support? I just got an update TODAY and it seems to fully work. I blocked all of the UltraAV at the firewall and placed it in the untrusted category. I'm going to my group policy editor and i'm going to change some things in Windows 11. Then, if I have to, I am going into the registry and claiming ownership of whatever I need to. This is BS, I fully support Kaspersky and I have since 1999 when I put it on my moms PC. Don't put up with this crap! IT'S MY MONEY AND MY EQUIPMENT, no government or otherwise will make me do anything I don't want. Windows can go to hell, I'm setting up another machine and learning Linux. If I wasn't wrapped up in an investigation right now, I would install Windows 10 again and never update. I had Win 10 curated for me, it took me weeks/months to get it there. Updating to 11 was a mistake. Don't leave us Kaspersky, if U.S. government if they think we will put up with this kind of boot on neck bs, they must not remember January. Oh and just in case, Database updates are now set to manual. I'd rather keep a non updated version of Kaspersky then allow my rights to be infringed upon like this. Let us know when all is clear and I'll update.

  6. The conversion to UltraAV is a nightmare. I tried using the settings/exclude features and the settings/blackboard/whiteboard features. Customer Support is an oxymoron with UltraAV company. Had to completely remove and purchase a new software package. It seems like Kaspersky is acting out of spite and not in the best interests of they subscribers. It's more like UlcerFU not UltraAV.

  7. This morning I turned on my PC. Never had an issue with KAV. I know US gov't cancelled KAV- not happy. Well this unknown company and its software UltraAv automatically installed on my computer. I WAS NEVER ASKED NOR NOTIFIED THAT THIS INSTALLATION WOULD HAPPEN. Also, I CANNOT UNINSTALL IT! I used Windows 11 Uninstall, everything was supposed to be removed. Well I restarted the computer and found the UltraAv had reinstalled itself. I DO NOT WANT THIS SOFTWARE! How can this removed PERMANENTLY?
  8. UltraAV is a POS and I'd never buy it. YOU screwed up with the United States and you think you can just install some POS on my computer and say we're even? I would buy Norton or BitDefender before having UltraAV for free. Get that POS off of my computer!
  9. I got the Kaspersky email several weeks back notifying me of the automatic mid-September transfer of me to UltraAV. It's now mid-September and I have not received the transfer email from UltraAV yet. Has anyone gotten the automatic transfer yet? I'm getting nervous because the drop-dead date for Kaspersky is drawing close.
  10. I have two HP computers, one laptop and one desktop that are now stuck in boot loop after UltraAV was installed on my computers without my consent. Have verified both have no issues with drive and hardware. One I had a good back up for, the other I only have an outdated one. VERY unhappy with what Kaspersky has done to me. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and this is the software they decide to use as a replacement and dump it on my computer without my consent.
  11. Someone please explain what is going on here. I did not request this and I'm quite happy with what product (for Kaspersky) that I have. Thank You
  12. Hello, As you may know, the US authorities have restricted the sales and distribution of Kaspersky products in the US, but we remain committed to providing you with the utmost cybersecurity. And as we’re forced to limit our cybersecurity products in functionality, we give you an opportunity to get a replacement security solution by our trusted partner — UltraAV. UltraAV will be activated under your existing subscription and login information, license duration and device coverage are carried over, and there is no price increase. There’s no effort needed from your side, and your Windows apps will update automatically – only very old Windows app versions, Android, Mac and iOS apps require manual update, which we additionally inform you about in corresponding in-app communications. On 9/19 Kaspersky pushed a software update that enabled the transition to the UltraAV product. This update was designed for seamless transition with limited user intervention required. Also - this is an Official Statement from Kaspersky and UltraAV on the recent update Following the recent decision by the U.S. Department of Commerce that prohibits Kaspersky from selling or updating certain antivirus products in the United States, Kaspersky partnered with antivirus provider UltraAV to ensure continued protection for US-based customers that will no longer have access to Kaspersky’s protections. Kaspersky and UltraAV worked closely to ensure customers would maintain the standards of security and privacy users have come to expect from their service. UltraAV includes comparable features such as: ● Industry-leading antivirus protection - Protects against malware, spyware, ransomware, adware and more ● Premium VPN - Prevents your data from being intercepted, and allows you to surf the web anonymously and enjoy global content. ● Password Manager - Create strong passwords, securely store them in one place, and autofill them with just a few clicks. ● Identity Theft Protection - Comprehensive Identity protection including credit monitoring with real-time alerts, immediate support, and $1 million in insurance coverage Please reference this chart to see how UltraAV delivers the high-level of security provided in your previous service. Kaspersky has additionally partnered with UltraAV to make the transition to their product as seamless as possible, which is why on 9/19, U.S. Kaspersky antivirus customers received a software update facilitating the transition to UltraAV. This update ensured that users would not experience a gap in protection upon Kaspersky’s exit from the market. To learn more about UltraAV, visit their website. If you have more questions about the transition, please review the frequently asked questions or contact their support team.
  13. I paid for Kaspersky not some sketchy program. I've been a customer of Kaspersky for YEARS and now I'm getting screwed over. I want my money back.

  14. https : //www.reddit.com/r/KasperskyLabs/comments/1g1nir9/kaspersky_flat_out_refusing_to_refund/ https : //www.reddit.com/user/phonix9591/ https : //www.reddit.com/r/KasperskyLabs/comments/1jvowlv/kaspersky_outright_steals_money_from_us_customers/?sort=new What you said there in the comments section has to be the dumbest thing I ever heard and I hope you're just trolling and not actually being serious. Here's why: A refund is not something a customer is entitled to ONLY when the company in question is at fault and something happens that's out of their control. A refund is something a customer is entitled to when they don't receive an item, product or service they paid for, regardless of whether the company is at fault/was in control or not (so long as it's not the customer themselves who's at fault/within their control). That's how refunds work, morally, ethically and legally. So, you're basically trying to tell us that just because the US government banned Kaspersky products from selling in this country that they should be able to essentially just give the finger to their customers and keep the money their customers already paid them for without having to give them the service they paid for, OR refunding them? That's literally called THEFT! If I pay for a service from a company and they are not able to provide it to me all of a sudden, regardless of whether it's their fault or not and out of their control, I'm still legally and ethically entitled to a refund because otherwise, I just donated free money and got nothing in return and that wasn't the agreement. We're not demanding "compensation" in the sense of demanding more money than we paid for like in a lawsuit. We're only demanding the exact amount we paid for for a service we can no longer use and either didn't get any of the service at all or at least not the full time of it. We're at the very least entitled to a partial refund that's the exact amount for the time that was cut off from us. If I pay for Netflix and then Netflix is banned from my country but I didn't get to watch any movies or series, or I didn't get the entire month I paid for, Netflix should just get to steal my money and not have to refund me either all of my money or at the very least the partial amount for how much time I had left and didn't get, and they should just be able to tell me "touch luck" and I get nothing just because it's not their fault and out of their control? That's not how refunds work. The customer is always the one who comes first when it comes to transactions. Here's a perfect example to illustrate the stupidity of what you just wrote and argued: Let's say you pay me 300 dollars for an item to be shipped to your house from an online store or privately or whatever, and let's say on the day I was going to ship the item to you, someone broke my window while I was away buying groceries, and robbed me of that item. By your idiotic logic, because the robbery was completely out of my control and not my fault, I should be able to just keep the money and tell you "sorry man" and give you nothing? You just get your money stolen from you by me without getting your item and that's okay? No stupid, I am legally and ethically obligated to refund you the money because not doing so would literally be theft. It's not a difficult concept to grasp. Just because someone stole from me doesn't give me the right to steal from you because two wrongs don't make a right. So, if we apply that to Kaspersky, then you're literally saying that because the US government stole their US customers away from them that that gives Kaspersky the right to steal from their US customers in turn to make up for it and that's objectively wrong and a stupid thought process to even entertain the notion of, no matter how you slice or dice it! To say that a company has no obligation, either legally or ethically, to refund customers their money for not being able to provide their services and products just because it's "out of their control" and "not their fault" and either leave the customers with nothing or an inferior third party product they never even consented to has to be some of the most pathetic corporate boot licking I've ever seen in my entire life! It's literally disgusting that people like you even exist! Just look at all the corporate boot lockers devending in the comments of those posts. So, if you paid me 300 dollars for an item, and on the day I was going to ship it to you, my house gets robbed and I lose the item, instead of refunding you, I’m legally entitled to just ship you a different item of equal value without your consent? That’s still called theft. None of Kaspersky’s customers agreed to use UltraAV which is inferior to Kaspersky and to keep paying the same price. They can’t just send them over to another company without consent. That is a violation of their contract plus selling their data to another company without their consent is a breach of privacy. But good job of being in the wrong. As usual. Another corporate boot licker. 🙄
  15. I am terrified about all this, as I am in five eyes country (Australia) who has very recently banned Kaspersky from govt machines like the US did in 2017. So this is the first step. Kaspersky is the best AV in the world, but what they did to their US customers made me lose so much respect for them, replacing it with such a poor product (to say the least). What the govt did to Kaspersky was not the innocent customers' fault, whom had supported Kaspersky for many years, just like I want to continue to do. It really felt like a middle finger from KAS to the US, and I don't blame them for feeling that way, as what the US did to KAS was disgraceful and undermines so much of the incredible work that was started by Eugene all those years ago, but you don't punish the customers for their government's choices. That said, the disrespect I would feel if I was Eugene would be off the charts, being constantly punished just because of my ethnicity. It's disgusting, but the CUSTOMERS who stuck with KAS deserved better. I would have been 100% A-OK with it all for example if KAS did a deal with BD or ESET or even AVAST/AVG, but not some unknown POS. My renewal is coming up soon and I am unsure what path to take. Originally I was going to buy 2 years of Kaspersky premium for 5 devices ( I am currently on standard) but now I am worried about all this since I just today read the article about the ban on govt machines in my country as of only a month back, which means a consumer ban could very realistically happen in the next year or 2 years, and I do NOT want to wake up one morning with the crapware known as ultraav EVER installed on my machine. I'd honestly rather use Defender in combination with Malwarebytes Premium. Without a doubt. Just so unsure right now, but I really love Kaspersky as a product (besides my long standing complaints about the lack of a very simple outbound internet access alert for new programs in the firewall). Besides my gripe with that one thing, I believe the software is truly unparalleled, especially in its protection.

    Computer totally taken over

Hello @cybercrone, *Also*, specific to Kaspersky being banned in the US - the transition was done 30th September 2024 to a software called Ultra AV, provided by the Pango Group. To see IF Ultra AV is running on (your) system - also look in the Task-manager for any executables called Ultra AV OR with the name Ultra in it. The UltraAV website is: https://ultraantivirus.com/. Thank you? Flood?+?
  18. To be honest, pick a different anti-virus software. The UltraAV software literally did not exist 3 months ago. There have been many people complaining about blue-screens and their PCs not booting after UltraAV was installed. Who knows what bugs are in the software since it's that new. Anti-virus software is important and should be tested, proven, trusted, and validated.... none of which is UltraAV. Look at independent testing from AV-Comparatives or AV-Test to help you make an informed decision. I equate UltraAV to using the "lowest bidder" to do a big project in your home because it's their first project. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable replacement for Kaspersky instead
  19. On 9/26/24, Kaspersky suddenly showed that an update had failed to install, then UltraAV was installed/initiated unexpectedly. It appears that, at the same time, Kaspersky or UltraAV identified my quickbooks file QBPOSShell.exe as malware and moved/changed/deleted the file. Kaspersky had never identified that there was an issue with the file before that point. I cannot locate the missing .exe file on my hard drive and the missing file is not listed in my Kaspersky account as under quarantine. In a panic, not familiar with UltraAV, I uninstalled the software from my computer, so cannot identify whether it's under quarantine with UltraAV. Is it possible to recover the missing file that was probably quarantined?
  20. I do not want UltraAV and replied back to the email I just received a few days ago announcing this. I already signed up and installed Bitdefender as originally instructed back in July! Why the last minute change?? I DO NOT WANT UltraAV installed on my computer. I do not want UltraAV and replied back to the email I just received a few days ago announcing this. 21. @His Nibs FYI, Digital River responded to me saying "Please be advised that as of August 30, 2024 all Bitdefender offers has been stopped. The offers sent through email to Kaspersky shoppers will no longer be available" and go figure, I tried the free transfer link on August 31st because they never said there would be a deadline. For what it's worth, Bit Defender and ESET have similar features to what Kaspersky offered, are highly respected and independent test have shown good results on both consistently. ANYTHING is going to be better than UltraAV because even the website for UltraAV was just registered 2 months ago. No independent testing has been done on UltraAV and I'm not touching it -------------------------------------------------------------------------- @r37r0 They could be going through growing pains. Their website was just created 2 months ago. You're free to stay with UltraAV or move to another AV product that has actually been independently tested and is reputable
  22. Hello @viper69, Welcome! Unfortunately we don't have any guidelines for UltraAV, nor the total force silent migration, but, having a quick look at the UltraAV website they have: How to uninstall Ultra Antivirus on Windows 11 -> we have *no idea* if that will remove the software permanently - all we can suggest is to please follow it & if there's any issues please log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service - https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts , they have access to (your) subscription & private information, for privacy reasons, the Kaspersky Community doesn't -> on the support page, select either Email or Chat, then fill in the template as shown - *select (your) Kaspersky software (1) from the drop-down list*; (there's no templates available to address UltraAV issues); please include a *detailed history*: *Also - IF requesting Chat request the operator email (you) a copy of the chat transcript *before* ending the chat - otherwise (you'll) have no record of the chat* *IF they tell (you) to contact UltraAV, please do that as well, again, unfortunately we don't have any guidelines for their support system but the support link is: https://support.ultrasecureav.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available? Thank you? Flood?+?
  23. I just had an informative chat - transcript below: Just read the hard-to-find support article that US govt. is basically shutting down use of Kaspersky. Basic question - what good is kaspersky in the current moment, especially when certificates can't be checked in safe money? You 19.09.2024 7:25 The Kaspersky product on your computer can still provide some protection on your device through heuristic analysis. Operator 19.09.2024 7:26 what is UltraAV? You 19.09.2024 7:26 UltraAV is a security product of Pango, another security company which we partnered with to ensure that our customer will continue having protection on their devices and will get the services that they paid despite the situation that we are in right now. Operator 19.09.2024 7:28 link to download? You 19.09.2024 7:28 You do not need to download them as the Kaspersky Windows apps will be silently migrated to UltraAV apps without opt-ins/opt-outs, - Kaspersky will silently uninstall itself and install Ultra instead. Exception: Kaspersky 2018 and older cannot be silently updated, instead users will be requested to manually remove Kaspersky and install Ultra AV. Operator 19.09.2024 7:29 Phaseout functions were Sept 10-29. Will UltraAV be silently installed by end of September? You 19.09.2024 7:31 Yes. The timeline started from the 17th of September and targeted to be completed by the 29th. Operator 19.09.2024 7:31 OK lastly please - is there any point in running Safe Money or Launch Financial Web SIte in Protected Browser ... vs. running in a standard browser (non-safe money) window? You 19.09.2024 7:32 Long answer: We apologize to inform you that due to the recent ruling of the US. Dept. of Commerce restricting our products in the USA, Kaspersky updates to U.S. IP addresses will not be available and certain other limitations apply. Limitations will be implemented gradually, starting from September 10 through to September 29. Safe Money feature will stop receiving updates. This may lead to the following errors when entering the Protected Browser mode, even for trusted websites: • “Certificate verification problem” error with an option to continue browsing • “There is a problem checking the certificate for HTTPS connections” • Amber frame will appear around the browser window while using trusted banking websites through Safe Money You can still access your trusted site by clicking I understand the risks and want to continue. Or they can also access the same site outside the Safe Money Protected Browser. All official information regarding solution functionality, subscriptions, and other matters can be found here: https://support.kaspersky.com/us/faq/2024-us-sales-statement Operator 19.09.2024 7:32 Short answer: It is better not to us Safe Money at the moment. Operator 19.09.2024 7:33
  24. It's a completely different software. Kaspersky has had decades to get their software as stable and effective as it is. UltraAV is a brand new company that started in July. I still don't think any independent testing as been done on UltraAV either, so there's that as well.
  25. I would suggest ditching UltraAV and purchasing another AV product instead. I've yet to hear anything good about UltraAV and still haven't seen any independent testing done on the software. The UltraAV software itself is only 3 months old; I'd rather use one that has several years or maybe decades of research, testing and development behind it.
