How much scheduled scan tasks can be useful when we have real-time protection? [moved] [Closed]
Flood and Flood's wife replied to MREZA's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello @MREZA, Scans (scheduled or manual) & RTP are different. Real-Time Protection provides anti-virus protection. The component detects and neutralizes threats, adware, and apps that intruders may use to harm your device or exploit your personal data. Full scan Kaspersky scans the device's entire file system. A full scan helps protect your personal data and money, it detects and eliminates threats on your device (in installed apps and installation packages). A full scan also detects adware and apps that intruders may use to harm your device or exploit your personal data. Quick scan Scans installed apps. Vulnerability Scan Scans the operating system and applications installed on the computer that may have vulnerabilities that can be exploited by malware. Rootkit Scan Scans for a program or a set of programs hiding traces of an intruder or malware in the operating system. Thank you -
[mobile] No In App Link protection - chrome is set as standard [moved]
Flood and Flood's wife replied to MaxPayne9101's topic in Für Privatanwender
Hello @MaxPayne9101, Welcome! Does Chrome show as Default browser ? If not, go to Settings, Application Manager, select Chrome, scroll to LAUNCH BY DEFAULT, select Clear defaults then return to KISA, either check the browser is now Chrome or go through the steps again to configure Chrome. After setting Chrome (I personally) do not access Chrome via KISA, Internet Protection, bc, the browser opens with a redirect to Kaspersky main (advertising) page. Also, check Chrome version: Thank you. -
Hello, Thanks for your reply. >Did you use USB3 or USB2 flash drive? Did you try to write KRD on different USD Flash Drives and >try to load it on this computer? I did try it with an old USB2 and a CD-RW. >Did you use fresh Gentoo live cd? I did use Hybrid ISO (https://bouncer.gentoo.org/fetch/gentoo-20160704-livedvd/amd64/) LiveDVD but i created the image onto a USB Stick with Rufus. Worked fine, and the strange thing is, looks like its a Version of 2016. Means i did use the Live-DVD like an normal OS. >Debian without nonfree-firmware hangs on boot too or has other problems? Yes, hangs on boot similar behavior just with a different error, there was just one line “[2.332949] failed to find cpu0 device node” >Do you use BIOS RAID feature? No, 1 SSD, 1 HD but no Raid feature enabled. The settings of the screenshots were default execpt the XHCI Handoff, i changed it but same error. I also did try to change the Legacy Mode with the result that i had to reset the BIOS to default (cause he didn’t detect my Keyboard anymore). Kind regards bern

Which to choose: Skip, Delete, or Add to exclusion? [moved] [Closed]
andpata replied to andpata's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hi,@FLOOD , sorry for these late replies. Busy weekend. I’m not familiar with one of the objects that was detected. It might just be a notification object that I signed up for on a website, which I’m only assuming because the words ‘Community Alerts’ are in the file name. Also it turns out I have KIS, not KAV. As for my comment, basically just know that I have not made a choice about what to do with the two detected objects I initially showed. But after that second, Full Scan I ran, there were additional objects that I quarantined some time before, which are in the exported text file I shared. I did a quick google search and N360_BACKUP is a back-up for Norton 360, which I had several years ago. I do remember making a couple back-ups for it. I don’t think I’ll go back to Norton 360 any time soon though, so I guess I’ll just delete those files. Unless there’s a better option? I have Honey, and more recently Kaspersky Protection for Chrome. I’ve had Honey for a few months and it appears to have recieved an updated a week ago. Kaspersky Protection looks like it was just added very recently? The windows alert was for user verification. It asked me to enter my password and verify the alternate email address associated with it, which I went ahead and did earier today. Was that okay to do so? I very rarely am asked to verify that information (I can’t remember the last time I was prompted to do that) -
Kaspersky Intenet Security does not work on MacOS Catalina 10.15
Menahouse replied to Menahouse's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello Kaspersky User Grouo, today I installed MacOS Cataline 10.15 on my iMac and it seems to me that my Kaspersky Internet Security does have a problem with it. The problems are the following: Is there any working fix or do I need to wait or what is the best to do now. My Mac is now without security and to wait in this situation is not a good idea. I hope I can get a quick answer here. Thanks in advance! -

Secure Keyboard, Windows 7 and KIS2020

Hello mikethebike, Your very welcome. I'm very happy to work with you. (A) Why? Ways to activate SafeMoney Secure Keyboard (other than Shift, Ctrl and Alt keys + P) 1. Thru KIS (application) SafeMoney 2. Thru (browser) KIS Protection extension (B) The issue in not SafeMoney Secure Keyboard (1) The issue is Secure Data Input "popup", in secure fields the Secure Data Input "popup" should be visible (2) The second related issue is, minuscule Keyboard that "sometimes" displays in profile/password fields, the "sometimes" is the problem, in secure fields the mini KB should be visible. (C) (a) Yes (b) No. (D) Popup/mini Keyboard issues have been with the Lab since 2018 - I suggest we (all) don't hold our breath (unfortunately). Hope this helps? Please clarify (A)? Thank you, all the best:pray_tone3: --- The Secure Keyboard Input limitations in Kaspersky Internet Security 20 documentation, remains relevant: KIS Secure Keyboard Input component operates with the following limitations: The feature supports Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Firefox ESR and Google Chrome. To use Secure Keyboard , Kaspersky Protection extension must be installed in the browser. Protection only works for the pages that meet the following requirements: The page is in the list of URLs or category that require input protection. The page is opened in the Protected Browser. The page is not in the exclusions list. The page contains the password entry field, and the Password entry fields on all websites checkbox is selected in the application settings. To check if the checkbox is selected, got to Advanced → Secure Keyboard Input. In the Secure Keyboard Input section, click Edit categories. Protection only works for the fields that meet the following requirements: The field is single-line and corresponds to the HTML tag. The type attribute value is not hidden, the display item does not have the value “none” in CSS styles. The field is not of the submit, radio, checkbox, button, or image type. The field is not read-only. The field can be edited (focused upon). If the field has the maxlength attribute, you must enter at least three characters. Protection does not work under the following conditions: Google Japanese Input or ATOK is installed. Your computer is running Windows 7 and the field is not a password entry field. Browser is open through Sandboxie. Autofill does not work in Internet Explorer. After the installation of Kaspersky Internet Security, until the first computer reboot the application does not intercept the first character entered by the user (in all applications). Secure Keyboard, Windows 7 and KIS2020
mikethebike replied to mikethebike's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Thanks for taking the trouble to try and help me. I am sure it is me who may be slow to comprehend but I had a bit of difficulty following your examples in terms of what this means for my situation. Can I say what I think you mean and ask that you confirm? I use Chrome and Safe Money and as I said I am still on KIS 2019. On my online banking site and other sites such as Amazon and other online retailers where I make payments I enter these in Safe Money. Once in any of my Safe Money sites I use the Secure Keyboard to login in. Currently on KIS 2019 I find that on any Safe Money site I can only get the Secure Keyboard by simultaneously pressing Shift,Ctrl and Alt keys with P to obtain the Secure Keyboard. This is not a problem for me to do this I think that you are saying that currently if my browser is Google Chrome I lose the Secure Keyboard facility and if for example tomorrow the auto update setting were to upgrade me to KIS 2020, I could still get into my Safe Money site but would have to use the actual keyboard and not the Secure Keyboard?. Kaspersky however recognises this as a problem and is working to resolve this issue with Chrome? Have you any idea how long it will take K to resolve this and will K still upgrade me to 2020 even if this problem has not been fixed? Secondly on other sites which I do not have in my Safe Money list but in which I still use the Secure Keyboard to login simply by pressing the green icon which brings up the Secure Keyboard, will the Secure Keyboard not be available if I am upgraded to 2020? If I lose the benefit of the Secure Keyboard on all these sites including those not in Safe Money will this also be resolved by K engineers? Currently it would seem that a switch to 2020 disadvantages me as it presumably does all other KIS users who use Chrome Thanks again for your trouble mikethebike -
To show it really works. When the installer hangs at 94%: The first time, I forcibly halted the mac using the power button. This is not really a good idea: after that, KIS complained there are some missing modules. It is still possible to launch it then uninstall it to start over. The second time, it worked for me. However, I was hacking a bit. I am not sure whether it worked by itself of if it were my hacking activity that unfroze the installer. Namely, in a terminal, I lauched the script that was hung, looking for the step at which it actually hung. But in the meanwhile, the installer resumed and completed successfully. For me, it was: "cd /tmp/PKInstallSandbox.2seyCw/Scripts/com.kaspersky.kav.core.CFsDP9 && sudo ./postinstall". And now, everything works well for me. This is my experience. Hope it helps.

Secure Keyboard, Windows 7 and KIS2020
Flood and Flood's wife replied to mikethebike's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello mikethebike. Thank you for replying. Re: "Protection does not work if opysys is Win7 and the field is not a password entry field", translated, as well as the other criteria defined on the page - Secure Keyboard Input works (Win7/Supported browsers), in fields that ARE password entry fields: Firefox browser Bank site Facebook Google account login - Secure Keyboard Input doesn't work --- IE works, the same as above. Chrome @ this stage does not work - still with Kaspersky experts. Edge - I don't know, haven't tested, my Win10 device died, I'm currently recovering. I'm not sure which requests you're referring to, however, there's no need for an image as you've clarified the source documents & the quote. Thank you. -

Hi Flood, I cannot find the mail I got from Kaspersky Support any more. I switched from Windows Live Mail to Thunderbird, exported the mails but somehow some of them got lost. Right it works in IE, I never use that browser and it does not work in Edge. Firefox is certainly not my favourite brower, Stubborn he ...... It worked before in Chrome and the ticket from support is still open since end May but they remain silent. The only workaround is still to use the on screen keyboard. -

Secure Keyboard, Windows 7 and KIS2020
mikethebike replied to mikethebike's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Seeing a link on another topic about Secure Keyboard Limitations in 2020 has confused me and prompted me to ask the following question: I currently have KIS 19.0.0.1088(h), Window 7 but have ticked for automatic upgrade to KIS2020 . I am now worried by the statement in the link mentioned in my first sentence that says: Protection does not work if your computer is running under Windows 7 and the field is not a password entry field I use the Secure Keyboard in both Safe Money sites and other sites occasionally. My concern is if KIS automatically upgrades me to KIS2020 and I still use Windows 7 will I still be able to use Secure Keyboard if the field is a password entry field? I do not find the K articles easy to understand and cannot really work out under what circumstances an automatic upgrade to KIS2020 while I still have Windows 7 Thanks mikethebike -

Hi FLOOD, In one of your replies above you have added an image of an input ex. of usename and password with "secure input" enabled in chrome. Was that with KIS 2020?And the latest version of chrome? You talked about a tiny keyboard icon that popup, but did the secure input icon also popup? I don't understand it should work at your site because kaspersky support told me that the cause it does not work is at technical base namely the development of chrome does not allow it anymore. -
So there is no way to do it remotly, someone from the computer has to do it :S OK, thanks for the quick answer

Since re-installing Kaspersky Total Security MS Word 2000 no longer runs. Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file.
Clearcomms replied to Clearcomms's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Thanks for a quick and very sensible reply - if I had been under less pressure this morning, I hope I would have thought of at least one of these suggestions. I've been out - as the simplest of the three questions answer was "If KTS is disabled, does the error happen?" on my return I closed KTS and tried to start Word. Interestingly, although it had been installed a few hours ago, it went through some of the installation again - and then worked. The villain in the piece is obviously Kaspersky - and once KTS was running again, I closed Word and went to restart it. Back came the error message. So something in KTS is causing the problem. There is nothing significant in Kaspersky Reports. I will try closing KTS and restarting Word, to see if once it is opened it will run normally even if KTS is running. But it is a pain ! -

Rootkitscan schedule, how to amend the present every 24 hr scan?
DaffyDuck replied to DeniseM's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Thank you Berny. You were correct. I got it going after a couple more attempts. The first few times it kept getting interrupted and stopping - I have no idea why. It just seemed very finicky. But I tried again and it worked and went through the end - took all of 26 minutes I have a couple of questions - Where does this scan (launched from the command line) pick up its settings from? It seems to be running with some default values at the moment. For example, How do I enable "iSwift"? Which files does the Rootkit Scan look at? All the objects loaded in memory? I do see that most of the files picked were Windows System, Common and Font files + Program Files that were open and running Does a Quick Scan look at all of the same objects that the Rootkit Scan does? Thank you -
Mac App Store blocked by KIS [19 and 2020, "Cannot Connect to the App Store" ]
Flood and Flood's wife replied to kenj's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello SupR-Pingou, Thank you. The Lab may take a few days to get back to you. As the issue started when KIS19 was installed we know it's not due to KIS20, we also know KIS20 hasn't fixed it. (a) If you haven't done so already, please set up Time Machine. (b) Please close all apps (not KIS), before doing the following: Select: Go To Folder in Finder’s Go menu (or select keyboard shortcut Shift (⇧)—Command (⌘)—G ) paste the full path ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.itunes in the field, select Go button. Hold the Command (⌘) key while selecting the fsCachedData folder and SubscriptionPlayCache folder, then release the key and select Move to Trash from the Finder’s File menu (alternatively, select Command (⌘)—Backspace (⌫) ). Repeat: open a Finder window, select “Go to Folder” in the Go menu. Type in ~/Library/Caches select enter to proceed to this folder. Open each folder, delete everything, Note: Deleting contents NOT the folders. Repeat: open a Finder window, select “Go to Folder” in the Go menu. Type in /Library/Caches select enter to proceed to this folder. Select Shut Down from Apple menu . Restart MAC, login, make sure KIS is active Retest iTunes If the issue persists, please collect data using KL Logs Gather tool for Mac OS and upload to INC000010850829, along with the data and images you've collected (here). Let me know please? Thank you -
Can not display list of processed objects, according to detailed reports window.
cafyon replied to cafyon's topic in Kaspersky Total Security
Hello, I use KTS 20.0.14.1085(d) (database 2 Oct. 2019) on MS Windows 8.1 x64 Pro EN. Today when OS booted, as usual, KTS started and completed quick scan, vulnerability scan and rootkit scan. Pop-up message window of KTS stated that there were detected objects by Quick Scan of which all of them are neutralized. Also Vulnerability Scan pop-up stated there were detected objects. However when I perform the following monitoring actions, I can not see any entries, no so called detected and processed/neutralized objects are listed: 1- Detailed Reports window, Quick Scan entry shows "Objects detected: 7, neutralized: 7, not disinfected: 0". 1a- Neither viewing via event details (All Events) of latest Quick Scan entry nor exporting this entry's entities, did not show/display any list of detected or processed files, filenames or lists. Neither of these approaches succeded in displaying list of detected/processed files. MainScreen*MoreTools*Reports*DetailedReports MainScreen*MoreTools*Reports*Neutralized(entry): Strangely this shows 3 objects as Neutralized. MainScreen*Details*RecommendationsSection: No evidence of detection is displayed in Recommendations area or other areas of Notification Center window. 2- Detailed Reports window, Vulnerablity Scan entry shows "Objects detected: 16, neutralized: 8, not disinfected: 0". 2a- Here the 8 unprocessed objects are non up-to-date installations of software/programs which Vulnerability Scan always warns me, but I prevent it to process or update them. No problem here. 2b- The reason of my post happened minutes ago today, last night I updated Windows and it updated Adobe Flash componet. Here you go... MainScreen*MoreTools*Reports*DetailedReports of Vulnerability Scan lists the processed files: Vulnerable object (file) detected C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_32_0_0_192.dll Vulnerable object (file) detected C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\pepflashplayer32_32_0_0_192.dll Vulnerable object (file) detected C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\pepflashplayer64_32_0_0_192.dll Vulnerable object (file) detected C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF64_32_0_0_192.dll Vulnerable object (file) detected C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe Vulnerable object (file) detected C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe Vulnerable object (file) detected C:\Program Files\BIN\vlc-3.0.3\vlc.exe Vulnerable object (file) detected C:\Program Files\BIN\vlc-3.0.3\vlc-cache-gen.exe My questions: 1- What is going on? 2- How can I correctly display the list of objects and files which are; a- detected b- processed 3- How can I display the list of objects and files in reports files or via exporting reports which are; a- detected b- processed ??? Edit 20191013:1321 Quarantine info: There are no files, objects in quarantine area though I allow 1 GB of space for it. Addendum to questions: 4- Is only one engine/function is performing all kinds of processing of detected objects? Do, say, QuickScan and Vulnerability Scan have their own separate cleaning assigned/designated engines for processing of detected objects? -
Thanks for the reply. I ran into a problem very quickly. I don''t have reports under more tools. I do have a reports button on the front page, along with Scan, Database Update and On-Screen Keyboard.

Flood and Flood's wife replied to squbbles's topic in Kaspersky Safe Kids
Hello squbbles, The Kaspersky escalation team have just advised the issue has been escalated to the Kaspersky developers as a bug. This is a much better status than "suggestion" as it shows Kaspersky have realised, children having access to Quick Access, allows them to disable critical KSK functions, the ramifications being, children may be in a dangerous or precarious situation(s) and cannot be located. No eta atm, but a good result - thank you again squbbles:clap_tone3: -
