Why does Kasperky anti-virus use 35% of my CPU in the background?

Using too much CPU

Kaspersky anti-virus seems to be using too much CPU in the background even though it’s not performing any scans. This causes stuttering which makes games not really playable. Is there a way to reduce the CPU usage?

Welcome. You do not have any incompatible software, according to your GSI report.

Have you tried an un- and re- install Kaspersky? If not, please do so. Any better?

It’s clearly scanning whatever DragonBallFighterZ is doing?

It’s a game from steam, it shouldn’t have the need to scan it multiple times while it’s running

Hi @Anthony813 ,

This looks like a known issue (4458477) which has been fixed in patch “c”. The patch is being gradually rolled out curently, it will be published completely by 8th of October.

Regards,

Igor
