Hello! I hope someone can help. On the email I got when I subscribed, there was a line saying that an activation code is no longer required to activate my account. I already had a Kaspersky account from a couple of years ago, but somehow it didn't work on my computer. I tried again a few days ago and everything worked well, BUT, this time, when I tried to activate the Password Manager app, a pop-up window required an activation code. This was after I accepted the user agreement. It automatically went to a request for an activation code. I pulled up the newest emails from Kaspersky and the old emails from the first time I subscribed to Kaspersky, but there was no activation key in any of those emails, either. I can live without the password manager, but I would like some kind of clarity on what is going on. Why does the email say no activation code required, but then the app requires an activation code in order to be activated? Makes no sense. I even tried creating my own activation code in My Kaspersky account, but was told it's invalid, so clearly I need to input a predetermined activation code. If I only knew where to find it. Any ideas?

Hello @Claire3,

Welcome!

  1. Activation codes cannot be manually created.
  2. This is the relevant documentation: Where to find the activation code for Kaspersky Standard, Plus, Premium
  • Kaspersky Standard, Plus, and Premium do not require activation codes. After purchasing on the Kaspersky website, the subscription/License Key - will be automatically added to your My Kaspersky account.
  • After you purchase the application, you will receive 2 email messages: electronic receipt and information letter on working with My Kaspersky. If you didn’t receive the letters within 24 hours, contact Kaspersky Customer Service.
  • **With Kaspersky's new software subscriptions: Kaspersky: Standard, Plus, Premium, purchased from *Kaspersky websites* the *Activation code* is replaced by a *License Key*.
  • The License Key is *automatically* emailed to the *email address for (your) MyKaspersky account* - that (you) filled in in the Shopping cart - Email field (A)   image.thumb.png.7bfc6e3ac219ebcd93986f4df82a4f35.png
  • When a Subscriber installs the *new* software & signs into the application with the *same email address* that they used to purchase the subscription - the *application* & the *License key* - in (your) MyKaspersky account *synchronise*.
  • *After* (you) sign into (your) Premium Kaspersky Password Manager with the *same email address* that's used for (your) MyKaspersky account, the Kaspersky Password Manager *also* requires a MASTER password OR Windows Hello can be used - there's various authentication options for Windows Hello, depending on (your) device, for example: Face, Fingerprint, Pin, Security Key, Password & Picture Password, please read: Unlock the vault with Windows Hello
  • IF the MASTER password is lost, forgotten or corrupted, it cannot be recovered by Kaspersky - it's important to keep it secure.
  • IF the computer is rebooted, restarted, shutdown & powered back on, the Master password must be input *one-time* before Windows Hello can again be activated.

Any questions OR issues please post back?

Thank you🙏
