Hello,

For a long time Kaspersky VPN was the only VPN I used, after my subscription ended I tried different VPNs and then uninstalled them all and bought Kaspersky VPN again, the problem starts from there. I think the other VPN tools I used left their traces somewhere or changed my network settings, I'm not sure. Now when I connect to Kaspersky VPN, it shows as not connected to the internet in the bottom right navigation bar. I have no problem accessing my browser and some apps that require internet, but the apps that check this status show that I am not connected to the internet.

My IPv4 and IPv6 settings are all automatic, and I didn't see any traces of old VPNs when I checked the Services section.

Did you check your registry on remnants ?

@Berny Which section exactly do I need to check? If you can direct me, I can take action quickly.

@burakkk

Please download/install  Registrar Registry Manager and search on the name from your other VPN tool to find eventual leftovers.

⚠️ Also , please take care to backup Windows registry before proceeding , modifying your registry is  tricky and and can be harmful !

@Berny

Unfortunately it didn't work, I checked all the vpn results with the application you shared, and I also installed cclenar and tried scanning with it, thinking maybe it wasn't enough, but it still didn't solve it. What I'm wondering here is why when I activate the vpn there is a second field called local network connection as I shared in the screenshot, because as you can see in the top part, it shows that it is connected to wifi and there is internet, but in the part that says local network connection 3, it shows no internet access, it seems that this is where the problem is coming from. Do you have any suggestions about this?

@Berny I have solved the problem, you may need to create an defect ticket for this place, when split tunneling is on, if the second option, apps always connected via vpn, is activated and an app is added there, the second network created by the Kaspersky VPN app is not connected to the internet. (No problem when the first option is selected)

The reason why it appears as a Local Network connection is because it connects to Catapult Hydra, and when I connected to Wireguard, I also saw that it came under a different name.

The split tunneling functionality has the following limitations:

  • Split tunneling works only on Microsoft Windows 10 or later. If you upgrade an older operating system to these versions, you must reinstall Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection for the functionality to become available.
  • Split tunneling with antivirus applications. In this case, Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection will show an error message.
  • Split tunneling may affect TeamViewer operation. To work with TeamViewer, simply enable VPN without this function.
  • If a VPN connection is enabled, all applications, including those added to exclusions, will use the DNS of the VPN tunnel instead of the user's DNS.
  • DNS requests from applications in the list that are set to operate over VPN do not always pass through the DNS server the VPN tunnel. In certain cases DNS requests from an application may be sent outside the VPN tunnel.
  • VPN settings for selected applications are applied to the specified paths to the applications only. If a path is changed, for example if an application from the list is updated, the settings for selected applications will not be automatically applied to it.

Limitations of the protocol selection functionality

  • To change the protocol, you must first turn off the secure VPN connection.
  • The protocol selection functionality is available only on Microsoft Windows 10 or later.
  • When using the WireGuard protocol, the Split tunneling and the Gaming functionality are not available. If you want to use this functionality, choose a different protocol.
  • When using the WireGuard protocol, make sure that UDP protocol is not blocked on the device.
