Im not sure if im misunderstanding this feature or if it's broken? I only want the VPN to work on a certain website, and when I go to Settings > Websites, add my domain there (example.com) and choose to enable VPN, visiting that website doesn't trigger the VPN to turn on at all.

• I have Kaspersky Plus (unlimited VPN).
• I have the latest update for Kaspersky VPN v21.24.8.522-2.
• Split Tunneling is OFF, so no conflictions there.
• Smart Protection is ON, however the main screen says I need to enable Windows location services and restart (it's disabled in my OS).

Do I need to have the VPN connected all the time from the main screen (and it will only affect my website?), or how is this supposed to work exactly?

I have to admit that sometime ago I asked the same myself, and I ended with the same conclusion as You.

 

Or it is not so well explained this feature, or it never worked as it should...

When Kaspersky VPN is launched without connecting a VPN server, a VPN connection gets automatically activated when you visit a Website from the list. However, the VPN connection remains active when visiting another Website that is not included in the list 🤔

Yep, agreed @harlan4096 - never has! 

We tested again today - with 21.24.8.522-2 (b) & one www added to Exclusions for websites - which, IF we understand correctly means that site *should* use the VPN, all other sites, not defined in the app should not -> the first part working, the configured site did activate & use the VPN however - the VPN is not smart - it forced all other www to also use the VPN.... 

(ioo) miserable outcome -> should not be happening given how long Kaspersky has been aware of the issue.

Also, when Kaspersky VPN is closed, the option [Enable VPN] doesn't work.

 

 

So clearly Kaspersky can't get this to work as it should. Why can't they just make a browser extension, and only leave the split tunneling in the Windows app?

Im not even sure how the Win app can be smart enough to turn on/off depending on excluded/included domains, without a browser extension to tell it to.
