For context, I am running Windows 10 22H2 Pro 64-bit (which somehow Kaspersky labels as Enterprise) with the latest patches upgraded from 21H2 with a clean install of Windows 10 on a computer that I built myself, Kaspersky Plus with the VPN addon with all databases and apps up-to-date, NMap 7.93, and TOR browser 12.0.4. (BTW, I am aware of the acropalypse bug, the screen shot is procced.)

I have been having trouble with lately is NMap and Zenmap which I often use for port scanning. But since installing Kaspersky, it simply refuses to scan anything even localhost or the my gateway. It gives me an error message of unable to open device XXX. I have tried numerous things, such as a clean installation, restart, etc, but I have never successfully gotten it to work after I have installed Kaspersky Plus.

Another thing that I have been having trouble with is TOR browser and installing TOR. There is a chance that I start TOR browser, that it would say that TOR exited upon startup, and would block me from using TOR. However, from the times that it ran, it ran just fine, and I was able to update my browser to 12.0.4 and access some onion services without issue. But I tried to get a clean install so I downloaded the latest release of the installer but I am constantly getting the error message 0xc000007 when I run the installer for all of the 12.0.X series. I did have a really old version (11.0.9) which did run without issue and I was ale to install and upgrade to the newest version, but I kept on getting the same issue. But on my laptop almost everything ran perfectly, I can use TOR, NMap/Zenmap works and I can scan google.com, cloudflare and localhost without issue. I have tried restarting and almost everything besides a clean windows install and it just refuses to work for me. I have a slight feeling there may be something wrong with TOR and the ways that it handles hybrid architectures, as the error code does have something to do with 32-bit versus 64-bit stuff (I have a 12700K with the E-Cores enabled) but I highly doubt it.

Hello @Random Person

Welcome!

  1. Check Kaspersky Reports, are there any events that match?

?The Kaspersky Reports can be filtered - remove any columns with private information, leaving only relevant columns & the left-hand Report column list can be collapsed, again allowing for a full amount of report detail -> post full screen images -including Report headings & that we can *actually* see without needing a magnifying glass please.

Thank you?

1. Ok I have found the issue with TOR browser, its probably something in the versions that they messed upon, got it working again.

2. Nope I have checked all logs, including unfiltered logs, and I have gotten nothing. And also, I have seen the logs and nothing of interests pops up or even out of order. Only script kiddies trying to brute force me with RDP and suspicious links being blocked. (Ignore the malicious links, I am using VirtualBox to do stupid stuff.)

Hello @Random Person

You're most welcome!

Thank you for the information!

  1. If we go by your post - the first screen is 'ignore' except for the certificate issue, refer: Messages "Certificate verification problem detected" and "Cannot guarantee authenticity of the domain to which encrypted connection is established" when trying to open a website
  2. 2nd screen - Wifi msgs, read: Notify of vulnerabilities in Wi-Fi networks
  3. 3rd screen - NMap and Zenmap are possibly attributing to the Network attack blocker events, but you've censored *all* of the IP information, making it impossible for us to assist - you need to provide the first 6 characters.
  4. Export Kaspersky Plus Settings then -> Restore the default settings for Kaspersky Plus, REBOOT, using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login, recheck; if the issues persist, log a request with Kaspersky Support, so a dedicated resource can be allocated to look at it. On the support page: https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts, select either Chat or Email, then fill in Application malfunction, Other template; please include a detailed history. Support may request logs, traces & other data; they will guide you.

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you?

After you install a Kaspersky application, your internet connection may get slower according to some measurement apps or websites.
