update from home internet

Hello,

 

I have a user with a laptop that will only be in the office every other 2 weeks,  I have Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows v10.2.1.23 installed and it works fine in the office but when he starts traveling will I need to do anything special for his laptop to keep up to date with antivirus signatures without him connecting to the office?

Hi,

You can configure this computer to update directly of Kaspersky update servers when don´t have connection with your KSC.

thank you for your response but if we have more than 400 computers and managed from kaspersky security center and some of them are out of office for two are three days then they will update?

he said the functionality for updating is designed to ensure that all machines will get updates regardless of their location.  By default, your managed devices will reach out to the Security Center server.  If your machines cannot reach the KSC, then they will automatically reach out to the internet to download the updates from our public servers via the internet.

is he right?

You´re welcome.

Yes, depending of your internet connection, but the recomendation is to configure the out-of-office policy for KES and for network agent for this device.

Whatever be the case, till the device you are talking about is connected to internet, the database will automatically update. Don’t worry.

can you please tell me the time and also after how many synchronization attempt to ksc it will start updating from  kaspersky lab update servers.

Hi,

In KSC manual:

By default, Network Agent switches to out-of-office policy if the Administration Server remains
inaccessible for more than 45 minutes.

The out-of-office policy must be created separately. When Kaspersky Endpoint Security is switched to mobile mode, the update task is started every two hours.
