I have a USB memory stick it was working normally,

Suddenly it turns to read only (I can copy from it but I cant delete or add files to it) .

I’ve found  2 hidden files:

ftuvy.exe
wbfvxb.pif

Sometimes kaspersky can quarantine them but  they are still existed ..
I’m attaching report

Oh.. I’ve forgot to say that the memory stick dose not have a write-protect switch.
Pleas advice, or let me know how to format it, (no important data on it) ..

Thanks in advance ..

how to format

You may also try  to proceed with a low level format before it turns to read only ?

Still the same problem,
I’ve upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2,

in Disk management the drive is “Read Only”,

I’ve Cleared the read-only attribute using “cmd”,

I’ve also Removed write protection in Registry Editor,

“low level format”  did not work “Device I/O error” was the message in each line ..

@tarekssmh Can’t you see “ftuvy.exe” in the task manager process tab list ?

Hello,

Maybe your removable disk has broken before. If you have a multimeter, please check whether the diode voltage drop of the data channel (+D and -D)of the USB interface is between 0.4-0.5v. If it shows OL or 0, your USB device has been short-circuited or opened in the data channel, and you need to repair this USB device .

Regards.
