Trying to use KPM on a PC as another user

I have a PC that has 2 users, 0ne admin user and one standard user.

99% of the time I log in as the standard user and KPM starts normally.

1% I log in as Admin User and KPM asks me to input the activation code or it will only work in free mode. See attachment for screen shot.

If I go and find the information it is asking for (which ironically is stored by KPM) it all works, until I go back to logging in as a Standard User when I have to go through the rigmarole again.

Is this Normal, it seems very restrictive having to buy copies of KPM for every user on a single computer.

The computer is running windows 10 (because it isn't capable of supporting Win11) and as far as I know the latest version of KPM, although I have had this issue for a couple of years just never got around to trying to fins a solution on here.

I have been in contact directly with support but they just don't seem to think this is a problem, which is why I am wondering if it is normal.

This is weird 'Run as Admin' is an elevation of privileges isolation in virtualization 🤔

Hello @alanarmstrong,

  1. Also, how many *users* does the Kaspersky Password Manager (KPM) subscription you have, cover?
  2. Is it a stand-alone KPM subscription OR is the KPM *bundled* with Kaspersky Plus & OR Kaspersky Premium?
  3. IF KPM is bundled - how many *devices* does the Kaspersky Plus & OR Kaspersky Premium subscription cover?
  4. IF the Kaspersky Plus & OR Kaspersky Premium is for more than 1 user - but - you are using KPM on the same PC - two user accounts, one standard & one admin & both of those accounts have *different email-addresses*, to switch KPM accounts - you will still need to log out of KPM to switch between the two & the same in reverse, when switching back to the standard account.
  5. Also, read this: How to allow or forbid use of Kaspersky Password Manager.

Thank you🙏

Is Kaspersky Technical Support stating that your 'administrator account login' is considered as a second machine which should mean that you are exceeding your available subscriptions ?
