Scan Report Warning- Object Corrupted

After completing a full scan using Anti-Virus software, I receive a report which states 0 objects detected, 11 events.

9 out of 11 events are warnings- Event: “Object corrupted”

What does this mean? How should I handle a corrupt object/determine if it is a threat?

This may seem obvious to some, but- I have not found a specific definition for “corrupt object” on google, bing, duckduckgo, yahoo, or Kaspersky’s Docs.

@mverost Welcome.  Can you please post the details from these 11 events.

Hi @mverost ,

Some files contain objects, which actually can be other files within archives. A corrupted object can be one that is damaged, and does not perform properly. A corrupted object, just like a corrupted file, may occur due to a defect or bug in the software used to create and manipulate the file in question. Or there can be an issue with the hard drive.

What I would recommend:

Open cmd as administrator, run the command "chkdsk /f /R", restart PC, disk checking will launch.

Also run:

sfc /scannow

to scan and repair a possibly corrupt Windows system.

Regards,

Igor

Hi @mverost ,

That was a mis-notification in the product, it has been fixed with the databases update.

Regards,

Igor
