Safe Kids iphone not seeing apps

Recommended Posts

Hi

My child has just had an iphone (previously had an android phone and everything worked well).

On the iphone I have installed safe kids and linked it to my account.

I have installed the safe kids profile on the iphone.

If I use my PC (win 10) log into my.kaspersky.com. I can Locate the phone correctly (the iphone is on).

However I am not getting any alerts from Kaspersky about her installing new apps, or her trying to access unrestricted websites. Gambling is Forbidden, but I can access gambling site on the iphone.

If I log into my.kaspersky.com, click Devices, it says the iphone has not been connected for 2 weeks.

On the iphone I open Safe kids, and its says:-

“Kaspersky Safe Kids is on guard. The following settings apply no the device:

Browsing history is recorded.

Some websites are blocked

Safe search is turned on.”

This is not the case.

Also she was able to delete the Safe kids app from iphone. You cannot do this in android.

Thanks

Mark.

Hello @MarkS

Welcome back!

Please take note of the following:

  • 🅰 KSK on a child’s iOS device works differently to KSK/PC & KSK/Android:
  1. On a child’s iOS device, KSK hides apps that are not appropriate for the child's age. As a result, application icons are not displayed on the iOS home screen.
  2. KSK hides all installed browsers on child’s iOS devices, because, browsers have a rating of 17+ according to the rules of the App Store. The child must use Kaspersky Safe Kids browser, to browse the Internet.
  3. KSK cannot block Safari on a child’s iOS device.
  4. Age restrictions are based on public age-appropriate rating available for iOS in the app version 1.38.0.14 and later.
  5. Settings for Application categories is not available for iOS.
  6. Specific settings for applications regardless of the category → is not available for iOS.
  7. Application use cannot be restricted on the child's iOS device.
  8. Device use time → Block device option is unavailable for iOS devices.
  9. Reports are available only in the KSK Premium version.
  10. App use statistics are unavailable for a child's iOS device.
  11. iOS operating system functionality makes it possible to hide KSK notifications on your child's device using operating system settings.
  12. If, on your child’s iOS, KSK has ever been configured for use by the parent, KSK must be fully uninstalled & reinstalled before setting up KSK for the child.

If you’re already aware of the above, please disregard.

  • 🅱 To address the existing issues, the most serious one first, your daughter deleting KSK:
  1. Is either Touch ID  & or Face ID enabled on the iOS?
  2. Was the access code changed on the parent device, at any time, before your daughter deleted KSK?
  3. How did your daughter have access to your MyKaspersky account password
  4. How did your daughter have access to KSK PIN code
  5. Has your daughter shown you how she deleted KSK?

If KSK is not working, please do the following:

1 In your MyKaspersky account, disconnect the iOS device, so it no longer shows under  the Devices tab.

2Confirm the phone OS is iOS 11.x & or higher

3Remove KSK configuration profile

4Remove KSK from the iOS

5 Make sure the phone is fully powered off before continuing, power on, log in.

6Install KSK

7Configure KSK for use by your child

8Confirm KSK Settings/Notifications are configured according to your needs → image 1 below?

9 Recheck all issues, including your daughter deleting KSK, if any issues persist & if KSK is a Premium subscription, log a case with Kaspersky Technical Support, follow the template → image 2, except, select whichever iOS OS is correct for your daughter’s phone; provide as much detail as possible & include a video of your daughter deleting KSK, it will help the Support team understand:

Thank you🙏

Hi,

Actually I deleted KSK, just hold down the icon and hit the ‘x’.

Not prompted for a password, just deleted.

I have reinstalled KSK and installed the KSK profile. Still the same issues.

In safari I am able to search for Gambling websites and connect to them,  which is forbidden.

I have KSK premium.

Hello @MarkS,

As advised above, KSK works with Kaspersky Safe browser, Safari is not supported

Follow the instructions above & log a case with Kaspersky Technical Support.

Thank you🙏
