Rule of youtube restriction is in KSK but my child can still access youtube through link insertion on Google Slides

As per topic title, my son discovered a way to bypass the youtube restriction of KSK by accessing/watching youtube through insertion of youtube link in Google Slides. So he would just open Google Slides, insert video, then he would just search for a video he would like to watch, and the video would appear on the slide.

Is there a way KSK can restrict this?

  1. Which type of device does your son access Google Slides on, Windows, Android, MAC, iOS & which version, refer: How to find the version of your operating system? 
  2. Does your son have a Google account (sounds like a dumb question, but we have a reason for asking)
  3. Does he access Google Slides via Google Chrome or Google Drive ? 
  4. Which KSK Age template has been configured for your son?

Hello,

I encounter the same problem. My kid can access youtube in Google Slides.

Here are my answers to your questions:

1. Windows 11 Home.

2. Yes.

3. He accesses Google Slides https://docs.google.com/presentation/ in Chrome browser.

4. I don't think I use any Age template. I set a rule in Settings -> Internet -> Exclusions to block youtube.com

Welcome & sorry for the delay responding!

4. Age template is Year of birth when (your) son's KSK profile is configured by you. 

5. Sadly the YouTube Forbidden exclusions makes no difference in this situation, YouTube is being accessed by 'piggybacking' on another app (Google Slides) - the reason for our delay responding - we needed to retest, hoping Kaspersky had got on top of this since it was first brought to their attention in 2022 & it seems that nothing has changed in the last two and a half years☹️ 

You may wish to log the issue with Kaspersky Customer Service -> https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts  - select either Chat or Email, then fill in the template as shown; please include a *detailed history*; IF it helps their understanding - include the URL for your post. 

*Also* -> IF using Chat - *before* ending the chat -> ask the operator to email (you) a copy of the chat transcript - otherwise (you'll) have no record of the chat*
