In menu System Tools missing item "Tools" (registry editor, windows unlocker and USB recover). Or was I looking badly? Thanks for the reply.

Hey admin.kvsl, to open the Registry Editor:
  1. In Kaspersky Rescue Tool, click Tools.
  2. Select Registry Editor.
The Registry Editor tool will open. Update: I just tried this on a virtual machine, worked fine. Cheers Leon

The "Tools" menu item is missing completely in the System Tools menu.

That's really weird. Either Rescue Disk doesn't have access to the OS, but the scan seems to run smoothly - or it's another technical bug. If nobody else finds a solution here, I advise you to contact technical support. Another idea: create a new bootable USB device with a fresh download of rescue disk 18 and try again... Best regards Leon

Hi, I am expecting a similar problem after un incomplete installation of Kaspersky Total Security 2019: the keyboard is disabled in the Windows login screen so I cannot login and start Windows.

When using Kaspersky Rescue Disk 18 the keyboard works but there is no button "Tools" and I found no way to start the USB Recover tool. How could I fix this in order to restore the functioning of the keyboard?

Many thanks for your reply.

Hello.

May be your disk is encrypted. Please collect hardware info https://support.kaspersky.com/14234. And send it to me.

Hi

Thank you for your reply.

I attached the tgz file renamed as *.zip as the reply window doesn't accept tgz files.

My disk wasn't encryped before installing KTS 2019.

Issue became clearer but not completely. Please collect traces https://support.kaspersky.com/14223.  And send it to me.

I attached both KRT*.enc1 and KLMNT*.log files renamed as *.zip as the reply window doesn't accept enc1 or log files.

You seem to be using RAID. What utility did you make it? And what type of RAID used?

RAID1 was preinstalled by Dell. I never touched it.

My problem is that the keyboard was disabled during the KTS installation and I cannot login to Windows. Is it possible to delete the KTS entries from registry and rollback the changes made by KTS during its installation?

You can rollback KTS changes by kavremover utility https://support.kaspersky.com/common/uninstall/1464. But you can’t login and accordingly you can’t run kavremover. You can restore keyboard by KRD https://support.kaspersky.com/14221. But KRD don’t support your RAID.

Please try this custom KRD  http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com/KRD/2018/isw/krd_isw.iso. Run KRD with “trace” parameter https://support.kaspersky.com/14223 and send traces anyway.

I checked the system in the system configuration and dicovered that it das RAID0 and not RAID1 as I mentioned.
I used your custom KRD and the "Tools" button (left to "Quarantine") was visible and active, so I could run the "USB Recover Tool" that eliminated Kaspersky drivers from 3 registry entries. After restarting the PC (without KRD) I was able to login to windows as the keboard was now enabled. No problems with RAID. So the keyboard problem is solved now :-).
Now I run into the next problem as my home network is not visible anymore and I cannot connect to the internet. So I rolled back the KTS changes using the kavremover utility. After restarting the PC I still could not reach or restore the home network using windows tools. As the next step I moved all oem*.inf files containing the word "Kaspersky" together with their corresponding *.pnf file from "C:\Windows\INF" to another directoy and restarted windows. But there is still no network and no internet connection.
Because everything worked well before installing KTS, it seems that the kavremover utility has not rolled back everything. What could I do to restore the network functionality as it was? I'll send you the traces in the next step.

Here are the traces (no network/internet after login on PC)

Please go to the folder:
KRD Desktop => Operation Systems => C: => Windows => System32 => config

and provide file “system”

Unfortunately there are no files / directories in KRD under "/root/Desktop/Operation Systems/" (see screenshot): so there is no access to the drive C:.

In Windows I can find the file "system" from the "config" directory but I am not allowed to copy it.

You should use custom KRD. And you must wait to complete RescueTool loading.

I added a copy of “system” renamed to *_copy_01.zip.
