Problem browsing websites while Kaspersky is running

Recommended Posts

Posted

Suddenly, I'm having this problem for the past three days when browsing websites. every time kaspersky is running, any website yields to "Err_Connection_reset". It has the same results on every browser (Firefox, Edge, Chrome, Brave, you name it).

I found out it was Kaspersky causing the problem, because as soon as I disable the protection and turning off the Kaspersky app, It returns to normal. I can freely browse the web. I think somethings wrong with the latest update? I kinda need a help here. I don't want to disable Kaspersky just to browse the web.

What do you mean? Is this why we're having some issues? I received the same upgrade on the 13th.

According to the link which you have posted, I have done that (renaming cert9.db) and still doesn't resolve my issue even on Firefox.
I'm still having the same issue across all browsers as long as Kaspersky is running. I can open websites when I close Kaspersky.

Also, as  the problem occurs on all your browsers please check/reset your Hosts file ?

Reset your DNS settings. This gets rid of any DNS issues causing the caching error. The process is different for Windows and Mac computers:

  • Flush and reset Windows DNS Cache:
    • Run Command Prompt as an admin and enter "ipconfig /flushdns". Press Enter to send the command.
    • Enter "netsh int ip reset". Press Enter to send the command.
    • Restart your computer.

What about to reset Your router?

This is not possible since this my computer is currently connected to company wifi and it's just I'm the only one is having a problem, I don't want to bother the IT.

But I got a better idea, I connected this computer right now to my phone's hotspot which get its connection via mobile data to my local carrier. While Kaspersky is running, it is still got the "err_connection_reset". sites don't load. Turning off the Kaspersky application, it immediately starts loading all websites as it should.

done, reset my hosts file back to its default setting, restarted the computer, while still connected to my phone's hotspot and still not fixed, I can't open websites when Kaspersky is running.

done that too, flushed dns, that netsh int ip reset. (restarted the computer again after doing the command), still on the phone's hotspot while Kaspersky is running. Issue still persists, can't be resolved. sites don't load.

Nothing is fixed until I pause the kaspersky protection and completely exited the Kaspersky on the taskbar, then all websites start working as expected.

Well, that was my last suggestion of how to solve this issue, very persistence 🤔🤷‍♂️

So, then You better go to report to official K. Support

Probably They will ask You K. product traces white reproducing the problem to investigate.
