Hi everyone.

Was just wondering, there is this option in Full Scan to skip password protected files.

Does it mean if a virus is password protected Kaspersky will skip it?

@Max Payne

Yes, the scan will ignore the file.

The reason for this is that the file is password protected for any AV to be able to scan the file, an access password is required.

@Guilhermesene4096 if you thick the box to scan password-protected archives it would still require the password to scan the file wouldn't it? would that mean the virus would still lurk in the computer system as a password protected file?

@Max Payne

Exactly, the virus would be contained within the password-protected file...

This way, it would not pose any risks to the system, since it was not unpacked and executed.

As long as the virus is contained in the password file and is not executed, you will not have any problems 👍
