Hi all of us rest of the world.

I have recently renewed my subscription and advised the old internet security is deprecated, and the new Kaspersky Plus is blocking a number of harmless things, like my virtual machine's downloads.

Virtual box is just an app on my computer, but it needs total unfiltered access to download any file type like it did with K's internet security. It has its own virus safeguards sandboxed in the virtual machines.

Kaspersky Plus, the VPN, and the password manager are all installed but only the Kaspersky Plus is enabled, settings as is out the box. The VPN installed but off.

Any Ideas?

Welcome to Kaspersky Community.

Please provide versions of KPlus installed.

What kind of blocking? Can you provide captures?

Hi Harlan4096

I found the issue, at least with the VM's. The Kaspersky VPN does not release the network. As soon as it's installed it blocks many things. I uninstalled it and the VM connect like they should. I think this is a software bug as this is not the correct behaviour for the off position. Or it should have a 3-position switch Green for ON, Orange for its current OFF, and Red for is completely Disabled behaviour.

Here is the Kaspersky Plus version.

Databases release date: Today, 16-18
Application version: 2118.5.4386

The Kaspersky VPN Behaviour is the latest version. As it's uninstalled an exact version number is currently not possible.

I don't think the version number matters with this issue.

What is the best way of getting this bug to the software engineers?

The off-position blocks anything that is not normal every day safe so if I want to download a torrent. It also blocks things like files from alternate and some open-source software downloads. Sometimes I would enter a completely normal address and just get nothing in the browser and not know why or just not the geographic location I was expecting if it was off.

I do think this behaviour is good I also think off needs to be off not half off.

Thank you

thanks Harlan

I think this one may needs a support ticket.

this option is the same as the off switch on the front of the interface. I do believe it does not send it through the vpn but it must be blocking either a protocol or have a list or something.

One thing I will try is to not start it with windows and see if that does it or I need to uninstall it for things to work.

Its a bit odd as it block the site of a store down the road from me but another store's site works just fine.
