Offline update stops and not proceeding with download

Hi,

 

The software Kaspersky Update Utility 4.0 for Windows is freezing when downloading the update.
Kes_win.msi.klz 3% and show it download but after hours the file is still there...
How can I overcome this?

Hi,

Maybe your firewall blocked the update, make sure that Kaspersky update servers are allowed. You can find a full list here : https://support.kaspersky.com/common/start/6105

This is ok. The tool loads a lot of files with same name. The progress bar is not correct, sorry. You need to wait ~40 minutes to complete. You can check temp download folder every 10 minutes and be sure.

Thank you for replying 

I did let the utility for 8 hours and it was still at 4%...

I tried with firewall off and same 4%.

Did tried tracert to the server and it succeeded.

 

I have contacted the ticketing and we are making some troubleshooting at the moment.

did you take a look in the report? Mostly the Reason is a block of a File itself. Some Proxy didn't like the double endling files like the .msi.klz files what you can see in the report or Trace File if activated in the Settings when the file should be downloaded and than the next Server is chosen.

So it looks like

try to download msi.klz file from 00xx Server stops and try to get it from 00xy Server and repeat it for all 20 Servers.

Hello,

It was simpler than I thought...by my mistake I didn't set the language in the configuration as en.

After this and disabling the firewall it works...now I have to make an exception in the windows firewall rules and it will work.

I beleived that Karspersky server is slow .. Sometimes I can't download packages update or slow in Kaspersky Sescurity Center...  but it will turn back to fast few days later... That's my experience using Karsperky in my company for last 4 years.

Is there a script I can use to update from another country?

Hello Mike-S,

that is quite an Issue but please know that we can not offer any way to use Updates in America because for Kaspersky it could give penalties like described in the BIS Statement and FAQ.

From technical point of view there are surely ways to get Updates like see Videos on platforms which are prohibited in the own Country ....
