Yesterday Kaspersky blocked the Edge browser and also wouldn't load itself, after reporting application start up errors for the last week. So I rebooted and deinstalled and reinstalled Kaspersky, rebooted and then Edge loaded. Today the problem repeated itself, the only difference is Kaspersky was still working. To cure I followed the routine above disabling and reenabled Self Defence. This seemed to cure the problem. I would appear the problem is triggered by You Tube, which now features adverts mid stream, could this be triggering Self Defence, which shuts down Edge. The version is 21.7

Hello @pwbc

Welcome back!

  1. The solution posted in this topic is *specific* to Kaspersky's *old* version 21.3 - not *21.7* onwards.
  2. From reviewing (your) other topics (you) had Kaspersky Premium, is Kaspersky Premium is still installed?

Please confirm?

Thank you🙏

It is Premium, it still installed and it is version 21.7. Despite that toggling Self Defence cured the problem for present using the procedure described. So Self Defence is being activated and You Tube would appear to be the culprit. As a footnote I have sent at least 2 application reports, when it reported application failure.

Hello @pwbc

Thank you for the information!

The Moderators have kindly created a topic (for you) in the correct section for (your) Kaspersky Premium software: Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium. The *other* reason we requested the topic be created is the discussion in the original topic is specific to 21.3 not 21.7

Whenever (you're) posting a *new* topic OR a *new* issue (for you) this guide:  Read before you create a new topic! by Danila T.  is very helpful

  • We note (your) advice that toggling Self Defence OFF/ON "cured" the problem - this is the *purpose* of Self-Defense:  "When this check box is selected, Kaspersky prevents alteration or deletion of application files on the hard drive, memory processes, and entries in the system registry."

We're not clear IF you did the entire procedure or only toggled Self-Defense OFF & ON & well as uninstalling & re-installing Premium; irrespective, all of that has been done & is not the resolution for 21.7, so let's move on.

  1. When the Application reports were sent, was a case *actually* logged with  Kaspersky Customer Service? IF 'no' & IF the issue repeatslog a request with Kaspersky Customer Service, https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts  - select either Chat or Email, then fill in the template as shown in the image; please include any screen images of the error, a detailed history & reproduce the YouTube issue & collect Har logs, refer: How to collect console and HAR logs, include them with the request; Support may request *other* logs, traces & data; they will guide you:                                                  image.thumb.png.ae67a188d660c3c71cae66e9b041b34b.png

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?
Thank you🙏
