The Intrusion Protection area is somewhat confusing.  I want to be able to group apps in custom groups and be able to give/take away access to them all at once.  The Kaspersky help manual isn't really showing me how.

For example, if I make a "Gaming" folder.  I put Steam, Gog Galaxy, and some video game apps in the folder.  I can configure the folder and make all the apps in the folder be subject to it.  So if I grant internet access to that folder, all those apps will have access at the same time (inherit).  And so I could customize the folder with all available options; same as double clicking an app entry.

Another issue with the current setup is lots of apps don't have a parent folder, for some reason.  They do belong to an existing folder, but Kaspersky didn't put them in there.  So I'm unable to use the "inherit" system to block/allow network access to all of that program's entries at the same time.  I have to do a search and manually allow them one by one.  That's too much work.

Can I make custom groups and set them up how I like it?

Also, the factory names are often bad.  But it won't let me rename them, so that I can search and find them easy.

Just look at these names!  Those aren't the names of the programs.

There is a box, that looks like it's there to rename entries, but it won't let me rename them.  Clicking it, typing, does nothing.

Welcome to Kaspersky Community.

Yes, I agree that sometimes Kaspersky Intrusion Prevention leaves some files outside groups, even sometimes does not create any group for the files for a new app.

Agree also, that it would be interesting a new option to rename groups, but You can move those files with not groups just dragging them with mouse pointer to a chosen group 🙂. That's what I do when I get those orphans files, hope this helps You. 🙂

Oh, I didn't know that I could drag and drop entries.  That's useful.

What would be useful too is for custom groups.  Not just by program but by activity.  Music, Games etc.
And to be able to rename these horrible names.

But my biggest wish is for context aware actions.  For a program to be blocked unless it's running (the user launched it), or always network blocked except to check for and download updates.  I'm having to manually find and allow these programs for updates.  This is way too much work.

Do these requests on the forum make it to the devs?

I also found the right click on 'Trusted' > 'Create Subgroup'.

With this and the drag and drop I'm able to customize this a lot better.  And when making a new subgroup I can define what the name is, to fix a lot of the naming problems, moving the entries to the new folder then delete out the old folder.
