Hi everyone,

I have been having problems with Spotify for a while now. Basically, the app stops working.

I have noticed if I disable KIS, Spotify works fine. If it's running it looks like (see attached images).

Can someone help?

Cheers

Hello @tterb76

Welcome!

Please share with us:

  1. OS version & build
  2. KIS version & patch(x), x = letter, on the Windows taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About
  3. Spotify version?
  4. In KIS Reports, are there any Spotify related errors?
  5. Has Spotify been uninstalled & reinstalled with a full shutdown/power off of the computer in between?

Please let us know?

Thank you?

Hi ?

1 - OS is Windows 11 22000.795

2 - KIS version 21.3.10.391(i)

3 - Spotify Version - No idea (latest), but it's done this for quite a few builds.

Do the following please:

  1. At the top of the Manage applications screen, select Clean up.
  2. Go to KIS, Settings⚙, select Manage Settings, select Export > save the KIS config file; go back to KIS, Settings⚙, select Manage Settings, select Restore > allow the Restore wizard to complete.
  3. Do not select IMPORT at all & until further notice.
  4. Shutdown the computer using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login, make sure KIS is running, start Spotify, is the Firewall error still showing please?

It seems I spoke too soon.

It's doing it again. All I did was add a few exclusions in the firewall and add some folder exclusions and it's doing it again. Very frustrating!

Any other ideas?

@tterb76 Please uninstall , download and clean reinstall Kaspersky ?

Under normal conditions Spotify is running without any problem alongside Kaspersky.  If no fix , please contact Kaspersky Technical Support.

Hello @tterb76

Thank you for posting back!

  • Hmm, what are the exclusions you now added in the firewall?? That's certainly disappointing, but, as we've already reset KIS to a clean config & it was working,  please contact Kaspersky Support, select either Chat or Email, then fill in Application malfunction, Other template, Support may request: logs, traces & other data, they will guide you.

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?

Thank you?

Hi all ?

It looks like I have it fixed. I uninstalled and re-installed KIS and now Spotify seems to work fine.

If I have further problems I will post here.

Cheers!

Thanks for the update, again?!

  • Have you also added Firewall rules again? IF so & IF they're packet rules, make sure they are at the top of the list.
  • Also, if you need the Spotify version, go to: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, search Spotify

How can I check which version of the app I'm running?

  1. Open the app
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top left-hand corner
  3. Click on Help > About Spotify → A new window will open with the version number beneath the Spotify logo.

One of the main reason near me is lack of availability. Spotify support only specific countries. This is also one of the main downside of Spotify.

I have never had a problem using spotify, everyone can also use the mod versions of Spotify Apk which are also very good and safe.
