Hi,

I have set .exe extension to be renamed in Mail Threat Protection. Accordingly, all exe extensions are renamed while receiving by the recepient. If an exe file is compressed as a zip file it is still renamed. However, while compressing as a RAR file, it is not being renamed. Is there any workaround to rename exe file inside a RAR file while receiving as an email attachment?

Thanks

Hello,

a RAR file should also be scanned like a zip or other archives as described here

https://support.kaspersky.com/KESWin/12.7/en-US/128886.htm

However, maybe it depends on password protected archive if the file can be renamed or not or maybe it is limitation of rar files that you are not able to rename the file inside the archive.

If you are using current KES 12.7 and the problem is reproducible open a ticket with technical Support and provide step by step screenshots how to reproduce it.
Enable KES and Outlook Traces

How to get a Microsoft Outlook log file

and after reproducing create a System Report of the Testclient as described here
https://support.kaspersky.com/3632
(Please run as Administrator and include Event Logs)

Send all these information to the Support Ticket.
Thank you in advance

Best Regards
