Kes 11.2 Remote Wipe

Hi There,

The Remote wipe task - Will that stay queued  then wipe when the net agent queried the admin server ??

(For example: we have Pool laptops that go out - and if one was to be lost in theory if someone turned it on KES would start with windows and query the administration server that is publicly accessible and wipe the data)

Also To what extent  does the wipe go to? is it everything including OS?

Many thanks for your help in advance

Upon having a play about with this - Its completely customiseable.

The level of deletion is up to the admins and can be tailored for any need that you require via the task settings. It can target specific folders files or extensions.

For example:

  • You can target the app data paths for things like chrome to remove any saved passwords.
  • Clear out Documents, downloads etc.
  • delete all RAR archives for example to eradicate any archives with data in.

It is totally customisable. As for the task its self - It will pick up from the moment it connects to the administration server.

A very useful feature for Kaspersky to roll out. One thing that would be useful would be the ability to target a specific application on mobile devices if this becomes applicable to to mobile devices. For example removing and deleting all data associated with a remote desktop application such as Microsoft RDP or Parallels ras.
