Kaspersky Standard seems to cause an issue with Workona Tab Manager

O/S = Windows 11

ARV = Kaspersky Standard v21.24.8.422(a)

I use Workona Tab Manager every day.  Today, when I rebooted my laptop I was bit startled to see that rather than load my tabs, Kaspersky decided to block this action.   Is this a an Edge Chromium or Kaspersky issue?

I can reproduce your issue ,the Kaspersky detection is pointing to Adware in your Edge Browser.

Please download and run AdwCleaner(*) as ADMIN.
1)  ⚠️ Don’t fix eventual detections ⚠️
2)  Please copy/paste the TXT Log in your next post

(*) No installation required.

Hi Berny,

Thanks for your quick response. Did run AdwCleaner but the log file is a bit empty ( just shows the pre installed Dell software and registry settings). The screen dump is a bit more useful.

@DanielW

Thank you for posting your report.

Your AdwCleaner screenshot is showing a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program)  , you can quarantine the two objects + restart Edge ?

Anyway, i submitted url  'workona_com' to Kaspersky Virus Lab.

When I attempt to remove the PUPs my laptop crashes. Thanks for submitting as I can't use Workona until there is a fix .  Anyway, the PUP entries are tell me to leave well alone!

Ok I better find a way to remove [Search_conduit_com] without it crashing my laptop.

@DanielW

Resetting  Edge to its default settings is another option ?

Please make sure you have a backup of your files before proceeding !

Hmmmm Ok, I will sort the backup out. That is good counsel.

Well that's all well and good but How I turn off the alerts so that Kaspersky doesn't report the specified objects.

Please try this :

Kaspersky  main Window → Settings ⚙️ → Security Settings → Safe Browsing → Advanced Settings → Trusted URLs

Add following  URL's

(1) https://workona.com

(2) http://edgedl.me.gvt1.com/edgedl/diffgen-puffin/lmelglejhemejginpboagddgdfbepgmp/7b97f47b0dbbf6ee552e8fe4a1c8c657431f3d3ba6bed0aca6205f963e665803 (*)

(*) This is the object path detected by Kaspersky , did you reset your Edge Browser 🤔 ?

@Berny

I have added the trusted URLs and workona is now working.  Thanks for that!

I haven't reset Edge as I have a few profiles I want to keep and also you mentioned doing a full backup .   I think I will need to do a reset as I want to lose this browser hijacker.

You are welcome.

Resetting Microsoft Edge will not delete favorites and saved passwords but to play sure you might export  your settings.
