Kaspersky Standard blocking MS Access

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

Couple of years ago Kaspersky started blocking MS Access from running locally on a PC as well as thru the network. We managed to find a simple workaround with de-registering some .DLL files in CMD.(a solution that Kaspersky "experts" didn't want to share with us).

Now,out of nowhere, they decided to automaticaly Upgrade their product to Kaspersky Standard, without asking the end user or even giving the possibility to choose whether or not you want to upgrade in the first place.

After those "major" upgrades,MS Access is again, not funcional!

MS Access as we all know is a legitimate Microsoft software used in million of machines across the World. And the audacity to block it is unheard of.

We are sad to say that we are a BIG user of Kaspersky products for many years, but now we are leaving. The so called  Technical support kept us trying some "solutions" for more than a month, and as expected nothing worked.

If somebody has a solution for this major issue please let us know so that we can continue using the products that we PAYED for until the end of the subscription. After that is Adios Amigos 😉

Hello @retrobeganov

Welcome!

  1. Please share the error message(s) (you) see when MS Access is not functional -> *how* is MS Access not functional -> it's hard to give solutions without specific detail?
  2. In Kaspersky Reports, are there any MS Access errors?
  3. Which Windows OS & Build, in Windows Search, type WINVER, press enter, post back the information shown in the WINVER app?
  4. So we're very clear, you've already been working with the Technical support team, for more than a month, but that has not helped - is that correct?
  5. So (your) time is not wasted again, list the 'solutions' the Technical Team offered (you), that did not resolve the issue please?
  6. Please share the Incident reference number provided by Technical support, it's prefixed with INC0000?

Please post back?
Thank you🙏

Why would we write here if the problem was resolved by your technical support?

Provide you with information that we already provided a couple of times to the so called support?

Your logic is very much off my friend.

The reference number is

 ID INC000016415160

Go look it up.We have send a couple of videos.

Time is precious my friend, take a look at the ticket,I guess it will be clearer to you.

In fact, scroll thru the forum, the same error persists for couple of years now, this is not the only case, there are many.

Hello @retrobeganov

Thank you for posting back.

  1. Because you've reached out to the Kaspersky Community for support.
  2. Because information (you've) shared with Kaspersky Technical support is not *directly* available to the Community & none of the Community have access to a crystal-ball, x-ray vision, use Tarot cards & or are mind-readers.
  3. LOL, in your opinion.
  4. Refer 2. & 6.
  5. Indeed, time is precious, the Community is full of Community members needing help, who are willing to work with the Community, to get that help -> you may wish to read this guide: Read before you create a new topic! by Danila T.
  6. We already did some research & found nothing that *illuminated* us about *your* topic & we're too busy assisting Community members who genuinely wish to be helped.
  7. Thank you for the incident reference number.
  8. It's clear @retrobeganov, you're annoyed - with Kaspersky - for TFU upgrades, with Support - for 'apparently' not sharing a solution with you that actually worked & for who-knows-what-else, but now you've come to the Community & you're already lashing out.... which is fine, but perhaps premature - especially if (you) want assistance....

Thank you🙏

Of course, the same annoying behavior as an amswer. That is what we expected when you can not provide a solution(because you don’t have any). The easiest defense is an all out attack 😉 .It would have been easier that you just admit that you don’t know the solution and let someone that actually knows what he is talking about try and solve this.Having experience with Sophos and other more reliable software for more than 20 years I can tell you my “friend”this is not the way to go.Other forums provide real help when needed, not juts some here-say and shooting blanks.

Please feel free to pass this topic,we never even asked for your help specificaly anyway.Live it to the professionals,it will be for the best 😉
