Kaspersky script injection is breaking SPA web applications (value.toString is not a function)

Hello, we got many reports from different users using Kaspersky antivirus that our website is not working for them. When we tried to replicate it, we found out that it is broken by JavaScript error (value.toString is not a function) thrown by script injected by Kaspersky.

It is happening when our web is trying to get data from server using browser fetch API. Sharing screenshot with the error and line in script where the error is thrown.

Can you please check / fix this issue?

Thank you,

Fero

Hello @IFL, Fero,

Welcome!

  1. Please log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service,   - on the support page, select either Chat or Email, & fill in the template as shown, also select (your) Kaspersky application (A); please include a *detailed history*. Support may request logs, traces & other data, they will guide you: How to collect console and HAR logs, GSI
  2. *Also* -> IF using Chat - *before* ending the chat -> ask the operator to email (you) a copy of the chat transcript - otherwise (you'll) have no record of the chat*

Please share the outcome with the Community, when it's available?
Thank you🙏

Hello,

As a *test only*, do the issues resolve, IF, in the Kaspersky application, Network Settings, "Inject script into web traffic to interact with web pages", is unchecked?

Yes, unchecking "Inject script into web traffic to interact with web pages" resolves the issue.

We encountered the same problem with a user trying to login to the MOCO ERP app. Disabling script injection solved it here as well. This is a critical app for the user and they can't do their work without access to this tool. Please fix this immediately so we can turn on script injection again as we also don't want them to work without the given protection tools.

" If the check box is selected, Kaspersky application injects a web page interaction script into web traffic. This script ensures the operation of such components as Safe Money, Private Browsing, Anti-Banner, and URL Advisor. "
