Kaspersky Premium interfering with Google Drive's internet connection?

Hello there!

I am having issues with the Google Drive for PC app and Google says it could be the anti-virus blocking the access of the app to the internet.

Did anybody else have this same problem? When I start the PC Google Drive starts without a problem and syncs all the necessary files with the cloud.

After a couple of hours of work in front of the computer, I notice that the Google Drive icon in the System Tray turn from colored to gray and it doesn't sync the files anymore. As a matter of fact, it gets frozen and doesn't even shutdown or disconnect from my account - only restarting the computer brings it back to life.

I have tried all the solutions given by Google, including unistalling the app and reinstalling it again, with no success. Now their advanced support says it seems like Google Drive doesn't have access to the internet and that could be a anti-virus software issue. I have tried to find a solution from Kaspersky, but couldn't find one.

Anyone had the same problem and found a fix for this?

I am running on Windows 11 Pro, version 24H2 / Kaspersky Premium version 21.19.7.527

Many thanks in advance!

Welcome to Kaspersky Community.

Please try to update to version 21.20.

Alternatively, You can try to add to Google Drive exe / services to Trusted Applications in Network Settings -> Encrypted Connections Scan

Thank you @harlan4096!

I have updated to version 21.20 and also gave it a try placing Google Drive as a Trusted Application in Network Settings.

Let's see how it goes. Really appreciate your help!
