Kaspersky Plus update crashes, blocks CHKDSK

Go to solution Solved by harlan4096,

Soon after Kaspersky Plus auto-updated to version, my Windows 7 Pro computer blue screened.  I tried to reboot in safe mode and run CHKDSK.  But it said CHKDSK could not run due to recently installed software.  The only way I could run CHKDSK was to completely uninstall Kaspersky Plus.  CHKDSK found and fixed disk errors caused by the crash.

What do I do now?

Welcome to Kaspersky Community.

I'm running W10 and W11 in my systems with K2021 21.14, and I can run system chkdsk command without issues.

Just install Kaspersky Plus again, if issues persists then contact to K. Support: K. Support

Also, You are running a Microsoft unsupported Operating System (ended in January 2020).
