Presently using Kaspersky Total Security on few computers. When try to update on some other computers using KTS lic it upgrades me to Kaspersky Plus and not Kaspersky Premium as expected but that's fine.

There a few computers that want to continue using KTS. If I purchase Kasperky Plus lic will it work to extend KTS?

Thanks.

@Gevu200 Welcome.

A license for the new Kaspersky range is not valid backwards.

Appreciate quick reply. Marked it as solution.

Unfortunately will have to buy non Kaspersky solution.

Too bad can not buy a current product to extend KTS.

KTS licenses migrate to KPlus, since KPremium has additional services:

Yes, however really prefer KTS with Parental Control [not Safe Kids] for each user on same computers. Wanted to be able to continue to give different users on same computer:

* Different computer access times

*Different Internet access times

* Different type of websites availability

* Different application availability

* Different availability to downloads

Safe kids did not offer above level of granularity.

Would be great if Parental Control per user had been kept.

At least application control was not removed.

Hello @Gevu200,

Regarding Parental Control (PC) & KSK differences/changes:

  • * Different computer access times

Each child -> on the same computer with their *own Windows account* -> can have an individual device use plan defined by *either* OR *both* -> Daily limit for device use & Scheduled intervals to limit device                              image.thumb.png.e4a2799046adc994f026d5e5fea3fe82.png

  • *Different Internet access times.

Agreed, time-based Internet access restriction options - definitely a big loss in KSK.

  • * Different type of websites availability

Not sure what (you) mean by 'Different type of websites availability'? PC had: Block access to websites from selected Categories, KSK has: Restrictions for website categories

  • * Different application availability

Are (you) referring to - PC, Internet, Restrict use of Applications option?

  • * Different availability to downloads

Are (you) referring to - PC, Internet, Block file downloading option?

Please post back?

  • *Also*, two things (we'd) like to see resurrected from PC:

Content control, Keyword control & the ability to export & restore child profiles -> such a simple option, was helpful for parents - absolutely no reason not to have this in KSK (ioo).

Thank you🙏

Hello Flood and Flood's Wife,

Really appreciate your detailed reply.

PC had everything we needed in one spot so really handy and useful.

* Thanks for the suggestion regarding

"Each child -> on the same computer with their *own Windows account* -> can have an individual device use plan defined by *either* OR *both* -> Daily limit for device use & Scheduled intervals to limit device"

I will look at further.

* Yes, wish KSK would bring back time-based Internet access restriction options.

* I'll look further into below and yes, meant Block access to websites from selected Categories.

"Not sure what (you) mean by 'Different type of websites availability'? PC had: Block access to websites from selected Categories, KSK has: Restrictions for website categories."

* Yes, meant the below as well, both were easy to configure in PC.

"Are (you) referring to - PC, Internet, Restrict use of Applications option?"

"Are (you) referring to - PC, Internet, Block file downloading option?"

* Maybe more people asking for prior useful features will reach Kaspersky 🙂

"Content control, Keyword control & the ability to export & restore child profiles -> such a simple option, was helpful for parents - absolutely no reason not to have this in KSK (ioo)."

When it comes to protection would you say KTS and new K Plus are at same level since believe both get same definition updates or is there one product more secure/better?

Thank you very much,

G

Hello @Gevu200,

You're most welcome!

Thank you for posting back & the information!

  1. Don't hold (your) breath, we don't know which parents Kaspersky surveys but, there's more than a few Kaspersky *parent* subscribers who've put in requests that have never seen the light of day, instead the product has been 'tweaked' with window dressing (ioo & the other parents).
  2. KTS is no longer being patched & or developed -> Kaspersky Plus is the new generation software; *definition updates* are the same for the old & new versions; for us - it took a while to get used to Kaspersky Plus & then Kaspersky Premium, personally we hate the main GUI, the moving blob is pointless & having the subscriber's email address exposed - again on the main GUI, we see as a privacy exposure, which surprises us, as Kaspersky makes a big deal about protecting subscribers' privacy - again, requests to hide the address OR bury it in an icon falls on deaf ears.
  3. The Search feature in the new version is useful: image.thumb.png.11dbaf099348856fcb52a24c0124adfd.png
  4. In: Comparison of subscription plans Plus column, (you) can see all available features for Plus, unfortunately there's no current KTS table to share with (you) but this may assist: About Kaspersky Total Security.
  5. Going back to (your) *original* post, Kaspersky Plus doesn't have Kaspersky Safe Kids (KSK), KSK is only available in Kaspersky Premium: Kaspersky Home Security, Standard, Plus, Premiumimage.thumb.png.dc4b430f9aac557afcada8e33e432195.png

Thank you🙏
