Kaspersky not downloading. Will not uninstall on Mac desktop to allow for different anti virus to be installed

My Kaspersky account would not download on a newer computer. I could not find the activation key with two months left on the subscription. 

I went ahead and bought/tried to install Norton on my son's  computer and it asked to uninstall the kaspersky first.

Went ahead and did that with help from a Norton Anti Virus technichian. Still could not uninstall Kaspersky in order to install Norton anti virus protection.

  1. IF (you're) unable to download the Kaspersky installer for (your) mac from (your) MyKaspersky account, try a direct download from the Kaspersky website. 
  2. IF the subscription was purchased from a Kaspersky website - there is no activation code - there's a License Key; go to: https://my.kaspersky.com/MyLicenses#/portal/pages/licenses, select (your) subscription, scroll to the Additional info section (1), select the drop-down arrow (1a), the following will be shown: Activation date, Expiration date & the License key:                           image.thumb.png.9ef7de9be1c297aaf7ee361b75c51a9c.png
  3. For *uninstalling* Kaspersky, in the first instance, follow: Uninstall the application; IF that does not work, read & follow: Removal tool for Kaspersky applications on macOS (kavremover-mac) - it may also be necessary to use: How to reboot macOS (OS X) in single-user mode; IF the kavremover-mac uninstall is still unsuccessful, log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service, https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts  - on the support page, select either Chat or Email, then fill in the template as shown, fill in (your) Kaspersky application from the drop-down-list (b)
  • *Also* -> IF using Chat - ask the operator to email (you) a copy of the chat transcript *before* ending the chat - otherwise (you'll) have no record of the chat*

Hello Flood - thank you for your help. The kaspersky website does not give any downloads anymore. Therefore even with the license key the downloads won't take effect. They are switching over to a newer platform.

I have contacted Kaspersky support and am waiting for their response. I went ahead and used the kavremover for mac however that still didnt remove the kaspersky application from my mac. I will try the reboot instructions you suggested in single user  mode.
