KAS scan hangs on Reltek file [resolved] [Closed]

Quickscan hangs on C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\RtkNGUI64.exe.

When time remaining went from two (2) minutes to 27 minutes, I stopped the scan.

I downloaded and ran TdssKiller. It flagged a file RTHDVCPL (LockedFile.Multi.Generic).

Windows About shows I have Realtek PCle GBE Family Controller.

Question: Do I need this file to run my sound system?

Question: Should I go to the Realtek website, download the file and replace the one I have.

Welcome. Please pass your mouse cursor over the Kaspersky tray icon and tell us the full, complete name and version number of your Kaspersky product.

Thank you to everyone for your help. 

It looks like the problem was a bad hard drive. It crashed and had to be replaced. 

After replacement, both Update and Quickscan are  fast now. 

Thank you again and this thread can be considered closed.
