I just got Kaspersky Standard. I keep getting this message. From my research this is google trying to use their DNS-server over my ISPs . I'd like to block this permanently. But instead Kaspersky asks me all the time if I want to add it to exceptions. I don't! I want to add it to always block, but this is not an option.

I tried to access the Firewall settings in the Kaspersky Standard app. It tells me I have to access those settings in the Kaspersky VPN run, which I also run. But I was unable to find any firewall settings there. Please help.

Hello @Aivi

Welcome!

  1. **Please translate the entire alert message into English & post back**
  2. Which Kaspersky Standard *version* is installed - on the Windows, Taskbar, *Hidden icons*, right-click the Kaspersky icon, select About
  3. When Details is selected, what shows please - IF it routes to a Kaspersky help document - please post the URL?
  4. Kaspersky Standard does not come with Kaspersky VPN: https://no.kaspersky.com/standard
  5. Firewall is a feature of Kaspersky Standard - read: Comparison of subscription plans - & it's not necessary to use a VPN to access the Firewall, so that does not make sense.
  6. In the Kaspersky GUI *Search* field - type Fire, scroll down to Firewall & select Go to, then, in Security Settings, Essential Protection, select Firewall        image.thumb.png.65db2111b4d09e4a016b9d05b5d403a8.png

Thanks for your swift reply! This is the message, I downloaded the English version of the Standard app.

Do you know how to block this permanently?

Just to clear up the Kaspersky VPN confusion, here is the message I have in the app. I misunderstood, I'm quite sure that's regarding a specific setting, not firewall settings in general.

Oh and for the record: I do subscribe to Kaspersky VPN as well 🙂

Hello @Aivi

Thank you for posting back & the converted information, very much appreciated!

In the Firewall, Packet rules, add as follows, include Log events to make sure the Block is working - Log events can be unchecked after confirming the rule works &  *when the rule has been added, make sure it's *moved* to the *top* of the table*

Hello @Aivi

Thank you for the additional information!

The message - These settings are not available b/c KVPN is running. You can configure Wi-Fi connection settings in KVPN - is specific to Notify of vulnerabilities in Wi-Fi networks & Block and warn about insecure transmission of passwords over the Internet *only
