Is it normal for the kaspersky backround scan to stop at 1 percent always

Hello @Molly, welcome.

The background scan tries to use as few resources as possible. It usually only runs when the computer is not being used (e.g. screen saver is active).
Please read here and compare it with your computer usage. Could this be the case or does the description not apply?
