I need help figuring out why it won't work when I follow the official tutorial for "How to add the Kaspersky root certificate to the Mozilla Firefox".

I added the Kaspersky Certificate or whatever it's called to the Mozilla Firefox like it says to do in the tutorial but the next day when I restarted my computer it's telling me that there was an error while configuring Firefox.exe and that I need to add the certificate again and basically telling me that I need to do what I just did again.

Welcome!

1. Which Windows OS & Build -> read: https://support.kaspersky.com/common/diagnostics/15026?
2. Which Kaspersky software is installed -> Standard, Plus OR Premium? 
3. & which Version, on Windows Taskbar, *Hidden icons*, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About? 
4. After adding the Kaspersky root certificate - the *first* time, was it checked that it was in the Certificate store? 
5. Verify Use the selected certificate store to scan encrypted connections in Mozilla applications  & Certificate store from Mozilla Firefox browser settings are both ticked?                                                                                                                    

• Do the following, do not miss any steps:

1. Create a System Restore Point - read: How to create a restore point in Windows
2. Export Kaspersky Settings, refer: How to export settings
3. Restore Kaspersky Settings, refer: How to restore the default settings of the application
4. *Don't import Kaspersky Settings/config file while the problem is being worked on*
5. Shutdown the computer using SHUTDOWN, not Restart, power computer ON by pressing the power button, login. 
6. Make sure Kaspersky is running?
7. Add Kaspersky root certificate to the Mozilla Firefox certificate storage, follow: How to add the Kaspersky root certificate to the Mozilla Firefox or Thunderbird certificate storage. 
8. Exit the Firefox browser & any *other* applications. 
9. Run a Kaspersky Database update. 
10. Shutdown the computer using SHUTDOWN, not Restart, power computer ON by pressing the power button, login.
11. Make sure Kaspersky is running?
12. Recheck the Kaspersky root certificate / Mozilla Firefox issue? IF it persists, log a request with Kaspersky Customer Service - https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts  - select either Chat or Email, then fill in the template as shown in the image below; please include a *detailed history*. Support may request logs, traces & other data, they will guide you:

This issue with Certificates happens for  lots reasons.

Please look again and update  how to transfer Kaspersky Certificate to Firefox.

Okay I'll try this but... Is it fine to if I don't add the certificate like is it necessary for security I can't seem to find a clear answer on that question?

Thank you for posting back & the extra question!

1. It's more to do with what was the 'reason' for adding the Kaspersky root certificate to the Mozilla Firefox in the first place? 
2. Did the Kaspersky app have an error & tell you to add the Kaspersky root certificate? IF 'no', then do not add the Kaspersky root certificate.
